Remind me please, what is the utility which splits old style fsmplane.wsp up into constituent wsp files which can be used in plane sets?

The memory you know smile

I will see what I can find. Which file are you splitting?

Thanks Jel.

That would be an old fsmplane.wsp file, containing all the minipix. Want to split it into separate minipix wsp files for a plane set.

Whilst we're about it, what was the utility for converting an old eaw.tm file to an eaw32.tm file?

I have a number of them split already, which is why I was asking which one(s) to you want to split.

Check your PMs here- I am about to send one

Moggy,

I just uploaded a minipics.zip file to a subfolder named "minipics" of your folder at the GEN.

It has a bunch of broken up minipics from various projects. You'll have to sort through them to see if any apply to what you are doing now.

Some are pictures and some a simple text files because I couldn't find appropriate pictures for some of the aircraft. Mostly that would be the "what-if" types.

Hope that helps.

Yes it would be nice if yu would post a download for this.

(I had a version somewhere I could dig out but also forgot the name of the actual program)

Also, has anyone the info on the number of tile targets changes / progressions version also?

I can never remember which version used 128 , 256, etc. since so many changes.

..Although for me its probably a moot point since its too much trouble to try to do any EAW work again. However it would be nice if we had all the tools for conversion at least available (with Howto's) for future generations...

I've found the tile matrix conversion tool. For some reason I didn't have it with the other "Jelly Utilities".

Moggy:
I uploaded a zipfile to your folder at the FTP site

The China minipics have been split, when I was testing the software which is included.

Roy:
The eaw.tm converter creates the 640x320 tile map with four bytes for each tile in a "eaw32.tm" file
The first three bytes is for the tile number from 0 to 16777215.
That is how many tiles we can theoretically have, a slight increase from the old 64 smile
The fourth is the orientation 0, 1, 2, or 3

It is no use for anyone, apart from those of us who are converting old theatres to run with the later exes which use Will Gee's TM2 system.

Still away in Lyon but hopefully heading home this afternoon.
While I was here I managed adapt the splitter which makes 240x160 minipics after splitting an old "FSMPLANE.WSP" file.
It also makes individual 148x100 RAW files

The new files are named individually from the "pnames.str" file in the folder with the original "FSMPLANE.WSP" file

[Linked Image]

You select a border colour, and the old minipic is in it. They fit the 1024x768 screens nicely

[Linked Image]

Unfortunately the order of minipics in some old theatres does not match the order in the "pnames.str" file (which they do in the default version) so the names are not always reliable. They would need to be re-named as "FSMPLANE.WSP" in any case when they are transferred to the FM folders of the planes they are made for.
