I tried using the DAW terrain in another theatre and there was a problem.
When I checked the tile pictures against others I found that the DAW field7 tile is a coastal tile picture and not a field.
This accounted for the problem I saw.
I copied the LR and BN grass tiles and renamed the copies as "LRField7.ter" and "BNField7.ter", Then I put them in the root folder.
It fixed the problem, as I expected.
Then I ran real DAW theatre, flew up several coasts, and never saw the square grass tile. I did not fly everywhere, but the results suggest that the field7 tiles are not used.
Does anyone know for certain if this is the case?

Trying again I saw the square grass tile in Malta and in Sicily, so the "Field7" tile is used in DAW after all.
So I have made a folder with a "compatible DAW terrain", with my fix, ant this one can be used in other theatres smile

You better check your EAW.TM before doing things like that Mr. Jelly. Trying to find that tile by flying over 10% or less of the theatre isn't likely to have good results. That tile is definately used already and may serve a special purpose in DAW. I found instances of this tile in the northern 1/2 of the map and it could well be vital for the coastlines there.

Like others, I too create tilesets which do not stick to the limited use of the v1.2 layout, tiles are placed where and when I need them, such is the freedom that modders have had since day one. Sticking to a standard tileset when creating theatres will only limit it's creators, for instance the use of coastal tiles as such is totally useless when the theatre area has no coasts whatsoever, that goes for forrests, cities or rivers too. Such theatres require specialised tilesets which will do the job.

As I wrote I had fixed the problem smile

160 is all about mix and match, planesets, theatres and terrains. I just wanted a version of the DAW terrain that was compatible with the stock 1.2 tilemap, and that is what I now have.
It is not meant to be used with DAW.
Just for variety we can fly over Europe and see desert, if we so choose.
