In Lyon with my W10 laptop, running CAW

I see this problem at close range to PAW carriers

[Linked Image]

Is it just my system, or is it a fault that needs fixing?

Also, is it really worth proceeding with the PAW ships as we have no means to change the type 3 elements to more colourful shapes?
I have been using a tartypes.str with the frst 73 items from your CAW one, and the remainder from Ray's SPAW one, so we have a heap of ships available from that second section.

That looks like an incorrect shadow file.

Try swapping in the shadow file from the SPAW Brit carrier.

Heck, even paranoids have enemies.

Yes, I think Ray is right about that.

It is possble to change those type 3 elements to make the model skinable, as I did with these carriers

But it is a long element by element job.

That carrier is suprer smile

However, another issue has arisen. When I checked airfields in the target editor the majority are flagged as axis for all four years, either with a 0 128 or a 0 n where n > 15.
This happens with airfields on different sides of the front line.

Both these targets are coded as all axis (0 128) in "airfield.dat" and there are many other cases.

Was the airfield.dat file ever updated?
Also with the frontline being considered as a ring, would you please confirm which area is meant to be allied- the inside or the outside wink

It's actually a while since I did anything on CAW - 2015 I think. However, given that the Phillipines and Truk are Japanese occupied, my memory is that the US fleet is inside the ring, and the Japanese are outside.

Originally there was to be a 1944 frontline and a 1945 one.

Airfields, tardata, and targets.dat goes back to 2008, though the world files were updated to eaw32.tm etc standard in 2013.

If you remember back in the dim mists of time, this was originally Captain Kurt's baby. My job was to make the world, which I did. We were working under 128A, and got the world and target locations set out in 2004, but we never got to the detailed layout stage.

I have since dipped in and out, attempted to further update what there was to 1.6 standard, and added a few aircraft made by others, to the set.

I really haven't consistently worked on CAW for a goodly while. Unlike Iraq on which I did a lot of further work in 2014, and Dunkirk ditto 2017 to produce an updated version.

The last thing I was working on in Midway in 2015 was aircraft launched by catapault from the non-carrier elements of the fleets:
