Remember migrating here when they decided to go pay per view, actually contribute for a year but eventually almost everyone had left, that's when I migrate, 2001 to be exact smile

Like you, I was from Combatsim and came here after they levied $$ for their site. I was also at Frugalsworld right up to the end when Mark's real life issues impacted the forum.

I pretty much migrated over as well, although I was already a member here when they started to charge.

Frugalsworld was an absolute blast, always had plenty of laughs there. Also, quite a few years ago, I returned to England and met Mark, because he came from an area not far from me. Somewhere I have a few photos, I should scan them and post them.

Wonder where old Frugal is today? He was a great guy!

Andrew.

Kindest regards,

AJ

Came here from Frugalsworld, and went there from combatsim. I too met Mark (Frugal) a few times, mostly at sim shows, along with some of the other regulars there. Actually my first meaningful online gaming experience happened from Frugalsworld (BF1942).

I also joined the general exodus. It was around the time of when it says I joined here. After I hit "Post Reply," I'll be able to see it.

I was signed up at CS (around 1997 if memory serves) and introduced to SimHQ by James Hallows (he of Foxy fame) in 1999. I was originally registered here under a different profile which ended up getting lost when I moved to New Zealand and dropped out of sims for a while. Like others I choose not to stay with CS when they went down the pay route.

I was also signed up at Frugals and knew Mark quite well, and would regularly catch up with him and also James at various UK sim shows. Sadly, I lost touch with MB when personal life threw him more than his fair share of challenges and he, rightly, had to focus on more important things. Another name from the past was Dominic Silk, (Dominic "Killers" Silk?), one of the authors of the EF2000 Strategy Guide and seem to recall he was over at over at FW. Anyone know what happened to him?

Both CS and Frugals here. Came here in 2001. Stayed at Frugals until it dropped off the net. Had a great time playing Falcon 4 with the guys there, including «the dance» to get everyone set up correctly with BMS!
Also some good times with Ghost Recon online with the same bunch of crazy people! biggrin

Hope Mark is doing good these days.
