Okay I'm pretty new to BOS, I've only started flying semi seriously in it in the last week after purchasing in on sale a few months ago.

I like to keep the flight model and such realistic but as I am flying in VR with Oculus Rift I need a little help in finding and identifying targets so I have a HOTAS switch to turn icons on and off, My problem is the huge "billboard" icons that pop up at close range.

Any way to change that? All I want is a red "dot" on enemy aircraft. I don't need range, aircraft ID or certainly not the pilots name (which is really ridiculous for enemy aircraft).

I've looked around the forum and used Google but haven't found a good answer, especially with Google where I get results from all IL2 iterations even when I specify Battle of Stalingrad.

Bo'X series icons/labels are not customisable like in IL-2:'46 (mp_dotrange) or DCS World (LUA edit) since give players options don't fit in original game design and the used "take players by hand" concept (the "new players" blahblahblah...)

Will be need a MOD for achieve what you want, maybe someone are working in this - as default are very awkward. Take a look there.
