One of the many gripes of mine is in order to host a DCS server, the server requires a dedicated graphics card.

How many VPS hosts actually offer a graphics card included in the package? very few in Australia and the amount of MP's in Australia average between 0 and 20 at any one time.

When steam took on the series, I recall their being dedicated steam servers for DCS, that has not happened. This is as far back as 2014.....perhaps earlier if I researched it.

The main screen with the clouds is the only thing I can think off that would require a GPU which prevents the host from actually getting into the settings to change it to screen shot of a map\plane etc.

The server with out a GPU prevents the host from changing these settings yet the hornet release is just around the next decade.

Why has ED not made the main screen a screen shot so that the server is not rendering clouds so VPS's rental is worth while??

How long until the dev team can spare 2 minutes of work so the main screen is a still image?

As you say the -18C is here any decade now and listening to Wags stream yesterday, where he got lost trying to find the runway and broke the landing gear after takeoff and couldn't land despite 3 attempts - but I'm getting OT, he did mention the airfield he taxi'ed on had hundreds of spawn points so I can only assume MP is in focus now and a good ded.server executable that can handle more than 20 planes are here just a few decades after the Hornet.

I'd say future looks stellar.

My thoughts exactly....the hornet is here in the next decade......dedicated servers can only be a short decades off completion

Yeah, they're on track to tackle that issue.... that is, until a private contract comes along again. Maybe we'll have DCS Truck Simulator next, as an offshoot of a private contract, then on to your server issues.

No it will be DCS Train simulator , what with all the work that went into making pretty trains a while ago
