But that's my point. I didn't brag about what I did to emphasize my skills, but to point out that the FDL was already quite deadly, I think anyone could have success in such a ship. My paint didn't take a scratch because of the insane shields, not my leetskillz. And engineered it gets far more deadly. You could say too-deadly for PvE. I've seen people say they can get speeds of nearly 900. And that's just speed, never mind if you uber the shields and guns and frame shift drive.

But in PvP, the existence of engineers means you probably NEED to engineer yourself, just to stay on a level playing field. I wouldn't want to fly my 400m/s FDL against someone that can boost 2.5 times faster.

I wasn't referring to your skills or the capabilities of the FDL. I was referring to engineered stuff increasing the rate at which you apply your craft.

Trading? Bigger jump ranges means what used to be a 2-jump route is now 1-jump. Better profit per hour.
Pew-pew? Harder-hitting weapons or longer range means you kill ships quicker. More bounty per hour.
Exploration? Lightweight modules means you can jump further.

It's not about your skills, it's about making your ships better, allowing you to apply your skills to greater effect.

As for collecting stuff, follow the Pokemon concept --- gotta catch 'em all!! What you can use, you can use. What you can't use, you can trade for the stuff you need.

OK fair enough Ice old bean. I admit I'm tempted to engineer the Courier's faults. And I was out at Felicity's yesterday. I saw a button to click that said Donate, but nothing happened. I got my new thrusters for the Courier and left for the CG.

I've been opting for some of the mats rewards, might as well start collecting it now, as you said..
