Welcome back, old fart Well, this seems like a good thread to make my reappearance in WOFF UE with all the wonderful mods that people have created is undeniably briliant! I struggled a little toward the end of my last challenge (Fokker Scourge) due mostly to sub par PC performance. I decided to take a break from WOFF and wait until I could upgrade a few components. Now I'm back with a new mobo and i5 8700K, and things are rocking! Mind you, I wasn't completely absent from the virtual skies. I was busy for a while making my modest contribution to the upcoming WOTR (don't ask - my lips are sealed). I have a feeling that thing is going to be incredible, but I suspect I'll still be flying these old birds often as well. Great to see everyone again, plus hello to the more recently joined pilots! Great to see this community still growing! Harry Welcome back, old fart

Sorry to break out with the obvious but I just can't help it. Everything about it is cool as hell. Where else can you (or at least me) have fun just making careers - and learning things too. Graphics, flight, campaigns, history, etc, etc. Guess I just have to get that out every once in a while.
Why this sim is not on 20 million computers world-wide is more then I can fathom. Okay. Back to your regularly scheduled lives. Carry on! Yes this is truly a gem of a sim. Most games have nice graphics but never immerse as well to me,mostly generic campaigns. It does feel more believable when enemy dives into clouds to escape you the squirrely buggers lol.Not to mention the active community makes it feel like your not flying alone out there. Love the history and I have already ordered my 1st ww1 book because of this sim, Carl Degelow Black Fokker leader and Ace of the black cross Ernst Udet is next=)

I have to agree with you all. I'm probably one of the youngest members around (46) and WOFF and before it OFF has taught me so many things. I started with OFF p2 then after frequenting the forums over at Combat Ace,and meeting the great people over there I was caught in the OFF trap Once OFF P3 came along with H.T.I.R expansion I knew then that I was hooked. I never thought that P3 would ever be bettered..how wrong I was. WOFF UE is arguably the greatest single player sim I've ever experienced. I bought WW1 books, (No Parachute,Saggitarius rising,Winged Victory,Open Cockpit) amongst others. Reading these incredible men's stories has made more more humble as a person it truly has. I never in a million years would have purchased these titles without this incredible sim..I'm so glad I did. If I'm walking in the woods with my lad I often look up into the sky and wonder what it must have been like for them gentlemen from all sides to be up there. It's lightly snowing here as I write this with a temp of 1 degree Celsius,I shudder at the thought of being up there thousands of feet in a bit of wood and wire I'm surprised they didn't freeze to death. The forum is also one of if not the best on the net, from friendly advice from members,to the brilliant Modders who continue to improve this sim. Thanks to Duke who created this thread (Great thread sir) but the biggest thanks go to OBD in creating these sims. Absolutely phenomenal work. Take care guys, and stay safe Well I guess I might be second youngest then lol (44).

I love this simulation... I can enjoy it non-stop for hours. It's challenges and diversity are never ending. I started out enjoying bombing missions, but its been quite a while since I go back to doing that. I've only just started a career in 1918 - it had been, way to hectic for me to make much headway prior to this. I've only had one French and one American career - still so much to look forward to there. In the years of WOFF enjoyment, I have never flown Spads, Bristol Scouts, DR1, Pups, Rolands, and many others.
Thank you OBD and mod'ers.

Harry, good to hear from you Hoss. Happy to see you back in the virtual skies and thank you for your contribution to WOTR. Still plenty of room in the current DID campaign if you have a mind to join. Thanks MFair, apologies for the delayed response, life got busy again! I'm still flying RIR and I have found that, for me, it's most rewarding to just have one pilot on the go at a time, and to really get into it by flying full missions. I'm currently nursing along a junior pilot in Jasta 2. He's in a Fokker D3 while his historic mates are flying the first batch of Albatros D1s. If I can keep him alive for a while, he should soon get a D1 for himself

So ... exactly like Stormy Daniels, right?
