I have the premium edition of BoS on Steam so if I purchase BoK (non-Steam version) can I still integrate the 2 games? Or do I have to wait until BoK is available on Steam?

From the store page...

I believe so. The BoK key will just update your [steam] installation, I think. Anyway, the details for these things is on the BoS forum.

By the way, this update is spectacular. The game looked gorgeous before, but now I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles... So even if you don't go for BoK, the update will refine your BoS map and make everything shomkin'!

In the past they said that the steam and non steam copies could not be combined but I dont know if that is still true.

I have BoS in Steam. Today I try add BoK (site) key in Steam ( key activated in my account il2.sturmovik.com), but Steam refused.

So I uninstall BoS from Steam and download the installer from the site, after was download ~8Gb.
But when I open the game for first time my password - who I have used today in BoS Steam version (updated for 3.001,) was refused...

After several attempts failed their site/forum became unavailable... so don't know how this "party" end...

Sokol, just curious. Why did you have to uninstall BOS. I started the game, and it said that it was going to update. It automatically went to Steam, took 12 minutes or so to download the update, and was done. No reactivation, no need to put my password in again. It just did it painlessly and the game started without issue.

And yeah, it did improve the looks of the BOS terrain a lot. But I still need to get BOK!

Since STEAM don't accept my BoK key (from 777 site) I remove BoS from STEAM (too save HDD space) - this after STEAM update BoS for 3.001.

Then installed again, using (777) installer - seems this installer put all versions of the game (BoS, BoM, BoK, collector planes) - why the >8GB, but you have access only for modules you have keys.

Today I solve the password "imbroglio" and now BoS and BoK work outside of STEAM. *

Since that game "launcher" became reticent in close after exit the game, I by-pass then making a shortcut direct for il2.exe in game folders.

* My BoS key allow install this version in STEAM, but no reason for do this, just result in 2 installations of the same game.

Is this because the Steam version and the version you bought directly frim 1C aren't playing well together? I'm asking, because I have BOS, bought on Steam. If there is an issue with that, I'll wait until BOK is released on Steam to avoid problems. I really hate problems.

Seems that STEAM don't accept keys bought direct with games developers - at least in this case.

I have several games that I purchased through the developers but use in Steam. Elite: Dangerous' website allows you to get a key to use on there. Don't see why 1C can't do that as well. Sorry for your troubles...it looks like it is just this case that isn't working.

The key is tied to your il2sturmovik.com account, you don't need to manually add it to Steam. Steam should update your install regardless if you bought BoK after which you should be able to fire it up and login as you would normally. I own BoS via Steam and have never had any problems or workarounds required for all of the content I have since purchased directly from the developer.

Updated this morning before work, only had chance for a very quick flight but instantly everything felt a lot smoother. Overall very happy with the enhanced graphics, better frame rates, aircraft feel and even the enemy AI seemed a little bit smarter.
AAA over airfields seemed to be tweaked in that they don't just open up randomly but wait until you either dive onto them or are low on energy before hitting you.
Will try the single player career mode tonight.

Georgio, I hope you get the same positive experience from the campaign as I just had this morning.
This is good, really good despite very minor hickups such as airfield named "null" smile
Well done 1CGS.

Congrats to Jason and maybe even more so to the team behind the scenes, these guys knows what they're doing (unlike some others not to be named in this post).

And this coming from someone who pretty much refused to touch this title owning it for 4 years or so.

If the campaign holds through I will not even hesitate to buy all titles in the series in one go (collector style).

Make the mission editor usable and this is just pure gold.

When is this released on Steam? Saw something on the other forums mentioning March 20th?

On March 20th the standard version of the game is being released. Whether that means that it will also be released that day on Steam, I haven't seen posted. If you aren't familiar with the way they do things, at the moment you can only purchase the delux edition. This comes with the two collector planes included in the plane set. The standard version is being released on the 20th without the collector planes. The collector planes wil be sold seperately. This is good of you don't want those two extra planes, of course. Not interested in Spitfires but want the P-40? Wait til the 20th. Buy the standard release for 49.95 and pick up the P40, instead.

For single players the Career selection is awesome. This is what many of you have been waiting for....With OR and this latest release, you can have hours and hours of a slice of history. The cooperative option has been a big hit with us as well and Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator can be used to pump out some missions. All in all, this has panned out extremely well.

In fact BoK "standard" came with P-39 L-1.

P-40 E-1 is part of BoM (Battle of Moscow) 'premium' package, but can be bought standalone as "collector planes".

"Collector Planes" included in BoK "premium" is Spitfire Mk.VB and HS 129 B-2.
