Which films can you think of that center around historical events which you thought were well made, well acted and entertaining even though there were some major factual inaccuracies?

These three come to my mind,

1. Lawrence of Arabia

2. Braveheart

3. Gladiator

This one had never even occurred to me but you are absolutely right! The film was based on a stage play which already had many liberties taken with historical facts.

Predator though? I'm sure you were joking. smile

Indeed.

I've been watching some strange low budget films of the Great Patriotic War lately, interesting though to see the Russian perspective on events.

I've always been quite partial to Papillon 1973. I guess the message of not giving up is what I appreciate the most about it.

Lion of the Desert I always liked Anthony Quinn as an actor.

The Beast IMDB has it as The Beast of War but when I saw it it had The Beast as the title.
