Salute!

Wolf hosts a RedBaron3D server each weekend at 4PM Eastern U.S. (9PM GMT). It is an NFM Island server and winning is based upon taking down all targets presented during 15 minute side changes until all are depleted to the last one. Targets not destroyed in a given turnover show up on that side's next round. Wolf's Training Day server is up before 4PM for chat.

Pick the side which is down one pilot, unless balanced.

Presently, it's dogfighting and defending against bombers, but sadly, a suicide bombing type war. A programmer is looking to impose an X minute waiting time after death to enhance excitement and realism, and to greatly reduce the suicide bomber factor. Being afraid of being dead (even for 5 minutes) changes the entire psychology of the game. This will be attempted through the new C++ server Scoring Program Redux developed, which will use the in-game serverOp booting capability usually reserved for cheats.

Other low-ping servers are now up on a direct-to-internet connection, which are labeled "Redux". Redux is soon releasing a new map of northern Italy (iMap) including the southern Alps and farmland. The Alps are not as high or as spikey as the real thing due to terrain program limitations, but the mountains and hills are really nice to fly and challenging to fight in. The lower level farm areas have had the "repeating tiles" of the original game mostly eliminated in this terrain version - much more realistc.

Teamspeak servers are and can be made available for small squads, two of which are beginning to shape up, German and Allied. Custom plane set servers available upon request. Presently, the famous Red Baron v Hawker plane combination is up, which is really exciting with those two very different planes. It was apparently a long, even fight until Hawker ran out of gas.

It is always a hot war, as good as they ever were. This game is easy to load up and get flying in.
