The latest editor in picturesOpening screen after navigating to a file:
I clicked the "Load the selected..." button to get this screen
"Select targets and bases..."
Using the
right mouse button I selected a reduced area by clicking and dragging top let to bottom right
This separates the targets and makes them easier to identify
Ponticelli was selected as a replacement enemy base (for Multiplayer)
Clicking on "Enemy Primary HB" set that base as Ponticelli.
After that the edited settings can be saved, and the yellow "Save in MSN files.." button can be clicked which will launch the game for a quick offline test.
At the very simplest level you can select a file and click the "Load and fly immediately" button.
At expert level you can "Make a new mission" from scratch, test it and save it
The whole thing uses a special version of the 160 exe, with virtually no EAW screens.
This exe can be used for lobbied multiplayer sessions, such as those at GameRanger.
A download will be available once we have tested it at GameRanger. I have already done so with "Hector" on my LAN, and it went well.
"Write to the eaw.ini" modifies the host's ini file with the multiplayer settings. These are automatically passed on to the other players at GameRanger.
They are also saved in the MSN file so that they do not need to be re-set every time. However, they can be edited as needed.
Here is the structure of the new 800 byte MSN file that single missions use:
The 6 bytes highlighted are the integer values of the Friendly secondary, Enemy Primary and Enemy Secondary bases that are used in multiplayer
