With Kuban not having been fully released yet, and two more airplanes still to be completed, I guess it's gonna be a while. I'd love to see some developement shots of Bodenplatte. Was hoping we'd get something by this Spring, maybe a plane or two. But with Kuban not finished yet I supppose not. I'm really not the type who should pre-order anything. I don't normally do it, but the planeset for Bodenplatte caused a knee-jerk reaction and I grabbed my wallet. But I get too antsy waiting for the release. I'm not overly crazy about Stalingrad, frankly. I'm finding the maps much to dull to fly over. Kuban is what I should have picked up, instead. But I'm not doing the pre-order/early access thing again. I'll wait 'til the finished sim comes out. I'm hoping that I'll enjoy that one a bit more. I have the P-40, and with the P-39 and A-20 I'd have some Yankee iron to fly. I'm trying but I just can't get into Russian planes. Maybe I'll grab that Spit, too. And there's a Hell of a lot nicer terrain to fly over, too. But Bodenplatte...I'm thinking another year or so.

Hell, Tom! A skin maker like yourself must be salivating with the stuff that's coming in this sim. I went over to the IL-2 site and saw some pictures of the P-39 cockpit. Wow. Looks terrific, and the A-20, too. Hope you'll be doing some nice USAAF skins for those two. And when Bodenplatte comes out...daaaaammmn. Mustangs, Thunderbolts, Lightnings! You're gonna be a busy man.

"Errm... there are Tempests and Spitfires too old chap"
Of course! The Spitfire happens to be one of my favorite airplanes of all time. It's the only thing I fly in Cliffs of Dover. I'm waiting for the final release of Kuban to buy it and pick up that Mark 5. Thing is, for a skin maker the choices are limited. The RAF did not allow gaudy paintjobs on it's airplanes, hence the, more or less, sameness of the paint schemes. With the USAAF, it almost seemed as though anything went! Some got so bawdy that they had to be toned down for photographs. But American military airplanes had some wild and colorful finishes and I'm sure they are a lot of fun for a skin painter.

Probably not before 2019 Look at dev diary 169, from feb 09: "Speaking of the further development, we'll start to disclose various details about it pretty soon. For now, we can say that the work on 3D models of P-47, Spitfire Mk.IXe and Bf 109 G-14 has already started while we're collecting reference documents on Tempest Mk.V. ..." Im glad P-47 is coming fast if they are already doing its 3D model

Yes. Jason had said, when this was announced, that we could probably expect some content to come out in the Spring. I had assumed that the first ones released would be the Spit 9, since they had already done work on the 5. And the 109G-10. They already have the 109G in the game, so how much different could it be than the Messerschmidts already released? There is so much available info on the P51 and P47, and enough are flying to make research pretty easy. I'm sure they will be amongst the first ones out, too. Of course, he probably said that expecting 3.1 and Kuban to be finished by now. So, maybe that has slowed the timetable down a bit. I'm anxiuosly awaiting all of this.

Yes. I have a Birthday coming up on April 6th. When my wife asks the usual, "So, what should I get you for your Birthday?" it's gonna be The Battle Of Kuban. Sure hope that P-39 is out by then!
