Anyone can see what I do wrong?

AJS37 Antiship mission with AI.
(let me know if pictures doesn't show up, I can't verify due to retarded router)

Setup:

Two simple 1-ship flights, me and separate group AI (Skill: Excellent).
Target ship "Moscow" missile cruiser.

AI loadout both AI Rb 04E and normal Rb 04E tested

Above setup tried at low level as shown and 1000ft and also with steerpoints above target and target threat reduced to a Krivak II.

Following AI to check distances here we are at launch distance (24 km to specification, I usually go in low (10m) and popup at 35 km and launching at 30 km to survive Moscow SAM threat)

With my fantastic patience I keep waiting until between min/max launch (also verifying our altitude isn't giving launch warning)

Here I flip my trim-right to have my autopilot leaving the area and switch view to AI looking at what he decides to do.
Getting really close without launching missiles he finally reach Krivak engagement range and jettisons all:

As with all AI planes he decides to go nose-up losing speed (duh)

Now, above pictures are just very few from my tests and the initial tests versus cruiser "Moscow" the AI always turn back home (never tried setting waypoint over target for that test since AI will reach above fate very soon)

I've tried setting "React to threat" to different values as per first picture.

Now as I understand there are several persons on this board that can make this work so I really hope to learn something here.

Try reaction to threat = evansive fire and dont use AI loadouts. Yesterday i tested ai and it shoot and destroy enemy ship(if i remember correctly i did not use any default loadouts, missiles for AI dosent work). Ok it was tanker which dont fight back

Tried order attack the specific unit too, no joy.
Did add a Norwegian F-16A with penguin missiles and he fires with or without specific target assignment.

This looks like the previous ARAK-AP bug where AI didn't know what that was (ARAK-HE worked fine during that time)

Thanks for suggestions though but Viggen goes to backburner again until 2.5 is released.
Sadly, after a year I don't expect this to work in 2.5 either due to experience.

I watched your video in the other thread and switched myself to A-10C and gave the AI the turbojet Rb 15F and that made him atleast shoot one missile.
Always something and maybe another interim solution.

Yes AI dont wanna fire missiles on salvo. It's same problem with air to air missiles.

For realistic missions , never give AI heavy all possible weapons-mix loadout. Same goes fo falcon BMS .

They wont get killed (so easily) , i normally give just two AGM-65’s or 4 CBUs .

Even in first gulf war A-10s and F-16s etc were never loaded max.

I find bit weird that in all sim’s people cry for more realsim and same time all missions made are pure fantasy. Every hardpoint loaded etc.. biggrin

It's because realism is important. If the plane is realistic, they can safely go zooming in in missions.

So true, I've even stopped getting annoyed at realism-talibans (be it BMS, DCS or any IL2 flavour) going rampant over the mere suggestion giving a plane some "what-if" possibilities (like a weapon only used for evaluation etc.) for their, as I understand it, total realism on MP servers (I mean, come on, they expect realism in open MP sessions?).

It is, and will always be, up to us mission builders if realism is close or totally off.

(and yes, "never" full loadout on planes - especially the Su-25 in DCS - be it player or AI)

One trick came to my mind. AI will shoot only one missile to shipgroup even that it contains several ships. Maybe it will launch second one if you make another waypoint near previous, with same attack group command.
