Yep, some are very nice sights to see. I keep a text file where I log all I've visited, more than 100 now.

I'm still in a Cobra atm, with around 2 mill in the kitty. I forgot how good that ship is,if only it had a little more space.

I'm quite happy tootling around with this new account (RicardoShillyShally-yeah,I'm a big Big Bang Theory fan) but at some point I may switch back to the other and try passengers for a while. This may seem an obvious question but are the passenger ships the best thing for the job or will something else do it better?

There are several types of passenger missions.

-- Transport. A to B bulk hauling. These missions will say something like "18 Businessmen Seek Transport". Usually a short one-jump mission, though arrival distance will vary, and is displayed. Clients do not require separate cabins and can be stacked to capacity.

-- VIP transport. These are for VIPs like CEOs and Celebrities. Also short one-hop trips and each client requires a separate cabin. These will say the clients name in the mission description. VIP missions also have a crown icon to distinguish them.

-- Sightseeing. VIP missions to tourist sites, like Visitor Beacons, Fumaroles, Geysers and so on. These are the ones that will take you to the cool spots. Can be one to four stops and also possibly a long distance, Tend to pay well.

-- Very Long Distance Sightseeing. Not different than the sightseeing, aside from the distance, which can be as far as 30k light years! Tend to pay very well, but probably not when the time is considered.

The only advantage the passenger ships -- meaning the Saud Kruger ships-- have in regards to missions suitability is the ability to install Luxury cabins. But my experience is that Luxury missions are too rare and not enough of a jump in pay to make them significantly more desirable than standard cabin missions.

So the bottom line, and to answer your question, is that really any ship can do these missions. For the transport missions, the ships that can pack the most cabin space will be best. For the sightseeing, the ships that can mount a class 5 or 6 cabin, along with good jump range are best.

This discounts of course other factors like speed, heat, handling, weapons and so on that any individual commander may value. Personally I run transport in the Anaconda and Sightseeing in the Orca. But any ship can do them, and it just comes down to how well, which is partly a matter of personal opinion anyway

I've used my Cobra Mk3 for quite a few passenger missions.

WIth the good paying VIP sightseeing missions, even in my Beluga and Orca, I still often only take one mission at a time. It minimizes run-around, risks, and pays easily enough for my play time.

Since many of these VIP sightseers only want Economy or First Class cabins, a single such in my Cobra is an easy fit for a fast, easy handling ship.

There's one I forgot to mention, and that's Wanted Passengers. I stayed away from these for months, since if you get caught your ship will be destroyed by the station in 3 seconds. No escape.

But once I had an engineered Orca that runs fast and cool I started taking Criminal Masterminds to whatever tourist site they wanted to go to and boot their skooma smile. You need to avoid getting scanned, but if you can they pay a little more and add a bit of fun to whole thing. I believe that your chance of having a scan initiated is lowered at station where you are allied.

I only do wanted sightseeing and do not do wanted transport as the destination station may not be allied to me and therefore more dangerous to approach.

This should be obvious but thought I'd mentioned it anyway... Read the Fine Print! Be sure you are aware of the passenger traits before accepting a mission. The only one that gives me pause is wanted. But secretive, scared and demanding might be important depending on the ships you use or the way you fly.

Yea, I never take a Wanted passenger. And I avoid the secretive ones, if I'm in a big slow ship. In a Cobra, the secretive ones are OK, as I can probably boost away and maneuver well enough to avoid a scan.

But like in the Beluga, I've had a few secretive missions failed just getting out the airlock, as NPCs scan me.

It's been a while since I had bounties to hand in. Do I have to take them to the system mentioned in the actual bounty or is there another way.

For full renumeration you must turn them in in a system controlled by the same faction as where they were obtained. You can also turn them in at any Interstellar Factors for a 25% fee.

And congrats on your kills smile

Lastly, if you think you will want to engineer, there is one engineer that requires 100k bounties to unlock. That's Tod the Blaster McQuinn (kinetic weapons)

Thanks DB. It was only a couple but I forgot to hand them in before doing some exploring. I just made my way back there and handed them in. I hate seeing unfinished stuff in my transactions tab,I reckon it's a bit of Elite OCD smile

I'll look into Interstellar Factors for the future.

Interstellar Factors are pretty useful. Not only can you turn in bounties and bonds there, for a fee, you can also clear bounties on you, and fines there as well.

They are found in Low Security systems.

I picked up some limpets I found at a USS but I don't see what I can do with them. Can't sell them, they're not black market, nor does the recovery agent want them. They weren't worth much so I tossed them overboard.

I'm guessing I could have used them if I had the right equipment?
