Gang:
I Downloaded Boelke's 'Defense of the Reich' 'vanilla' campaign for use in my IL2 1946 14.3.4. Things were going fine (I didn't even pay attention to this: (IMPORTANT: Recommended settings for the [DGEN] section of the CONF.INI:
My settings are these
[DGen] RandomFlights=3 HistoricalRanks=1 NoAirfieldHighlight=1 MaxFLAK=40 MissionDistance=75 MaxBomberSkill=0)
mainly because I can't even find it) but things were going just fine until I finished the Balaton campaign & tried to go North Germany Throes of Death & suddenly neither it nor the subsequent campaigns could be created--presumably due to 'lack of map'.
Sooooo...then. What am I doing wrong--yet again? The DGen section is something that you need to manually add to the Conf.ini file. [DGen]: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=28DGen creates logs that may give the answer to the problem. - DGen.log
- Dgen2.log
- Dgen3.log
- DgenERROR.log
These files are located in the main folder of the sim. Default Location (32 bit systems): C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\(DGen.log, Dgen2.log, Dgen3.log, DgenERROR.log) (64 bit systems): C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\(DGen.log, Dgen2.log, Dgen3.log, DgenERROR.log) Wheels

I cannot find the DGen.log entry or anything marked Confi.ini; The conf.ini file has to be there for the game to run. You may not have extensions enabled so look for a file name conf in the main directory. The same one where you found the DGen error log. The error message makes me believe that you do not have a map installed that is necessary for the campaign to run. Error - mapname was expected The only "Defence of the Reich" campaign I can find was built for HSFX 6.0. It won't work with a non modded install. Defense of the Reich for HSFX 6 Vers. 1.1: http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/download.php?view.747If you have downloaded a different version of the campaign I will need a link to it so I can see what is necessary for it to run. According to the description you must disable "UseParkedPlanes" in the conf.ini or the campaign will crash when changing to the NWE and Ardennes maps. See that's the problem: I can't find the conf.ini

conf without .ini, in your main il2 directory, if your windows don’t show extensions. If it doesn’t show hidden files, you won’t find it. Change windows file display parameters as needed. OK...which leads to the next question: how do I change the windows file display parameters? Thanks ahead of time. NM

NM To keep my answers relevant and more specific I need to know which Operating System you are running on your computer. - Windows 7
- Windows 8
- Windows 10
- Other - Please Specify
Once you learn how to do it with one OS the others are pretty similar but having instructions specifically tailored to your OS will hopefully keep confusion to a minimum. Wheels
