Historical facts, plane information, plane opinions, Squadron/Jasta tidbits, game and mod requests and suggestions.
C’mon boys let’s liven this place up a little.

For my contribution a website that list “199 Combat Aircraft of 1914-18” along with a photo (or profile) of each along with information about said aircraft which is a bit more then some generic paragraph.

https://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/ww1-aircraft.asp

Start your own thread or post here with some cool WW1 aviation info or WOFF information.

DIH, this is like a WOFF shopping list. I wish some of these could be just AI controlled targets. Don't need to fly them all.

Nice find Bud! To think someone actually flew some of those designs. Brave souls.

I know right?
Even a “grizzled veteran” like myself found a few surprises there. A lot of “Oh yea, I remember now.” Even a couple “Was that really a good idea?”
Okay OBD. Looks like you only have about 120 left to go.

Great to see that many aircraft. One day in the next century maybe we'll have them all wink
The odd thing is it shows variants of many craft but some main ones Eindecker, SE5 it doesn't show the variants so there are actually even more than 199.

The Ago C.IV was more common than that twin boom job and it isn't even on that list! Wouldn't it be neat to command Zeppelins or Schütte-Lanz airships?

Well, if we are making wishes, I would like to see a couple of the Alb two- sweaters thrown in: one earlier model and a latter one.

I have forgotten what witty banter is... Unless you consider going into a local pizza shop, asking for 2 small, double cheese, double pepperoni pizzas and having the 9 months pregnant,17 year old counter girl look at you with a blank stare and then say, "So you want 2 slices with pepperoni?" ... Ahhh no. And proceeded to have to go through it 3 times before the guy making the pizzas out back says in frustration, "Sweetie... I got this. I started making them already"...

Buff1, that qualifies as dim-witty banter.

Well, 'witty' is a matter of opinion, of course. But here's some 'banter':

However, for 'witty'... and context... I'd choose this:

Hope they're available to you US folks.

Oh that I was back in the dear old PBI.
With no more Triplanes on me tail, nor tracer tracing by.
And no more flames and clickerty-clack and no more blooming sky,
And only a couple of feet to fall whenever I want to die.

.

I had a witty banter once, but it cleared up after a prescribed course of strong antibiotics.

Was that acquired directly after a sticky wicket?

Actually Robert, I had engaged in a bit of waggish persiflage with a buxom barmaid one evening and ended up afflicted with the aforementioned witty banter. I was regretting it all the next morning I can tell you.

Lou, was it witty banter, or naughty barter?
