The remastered edition has been released today. One of my favourite games of all time! Downloading as we speak. Can't wait to play it again!

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Yeah this is one I'd like to get. I have the SotC/Ico HD remaster on PS3 and though I have not finished it I really liked what I played of it. Love the game mechanics and the world as well. Its just so mysterious and ethereal. I'd be curious what you think of it but all the videos I've seen seem to show that they've done a good job. I'd like to know if the game runs at 60fps for the basic PS4 which I have. They've truly remade it so I have a feeling that it will still be 30 fps but hopefully a good and consistent 30 fps. Games like Uncharted 4, Naughty Dog did an awesome job of making the 30 fps lock look and feel good because its a well optimized 30 fps, consistent and utilizes some subtle motion blur and all that plus really smooth and tight controls still makes a 30fps locked game like that of today waaaay better than a 30 fps locked game of the previous generation or two of games.

I also really want to get "The Last Guardian" but it kind of got expensive all of a sudden even though its not been out that long. That one I know has rough performance but that game is all about the SotC/ICO type experience.

SotC on PS4 is as brilliant as the original, but now it's even more gorgeous! It was the best-looking PS2 game by far, and it's not far from being the best-looking PS4 game either! The huge, ethereal world looks magnificient. The colossi look great, especially the organic parts - hair, fur, etc. Where the horizon was fogged over on the PS2 due to system constraints, you can now see for miles and miles, and it looks wonderful. The music is as stirring as ever, and the emotional impact of the game is still there. I'm not sure if I'm actually happy felling the colossi. This is simply one of the best games of all time.

Sounds good. I imagine that world, which was already unique and visually stunning even on previous generation hardware, is really being done a service now having more processing power and more newer tech and textures I imagine. I also look forward to better controls which I imagine are also improved. This was a game definately worthy of a remake. I wish other games would get remade or at the least given a revamped, HD port to PS4 like Metal Gear Solid 4. Actually the Legacy Collection refurbished and brought over would be great.

I have a question for you about the map. Is it still very bare bones or have they redone things like that too? Did they design the touch pad to do anything such as bring up the map and do they use its speaker for anything?

Touch pad brings up the map, but I haven't heard the control speaker used for anything. You can choose between the original controls, and several remaps. Apparently, some thought the original control scheme clunky. I never had any problems with it.

I bought the game for half the price of most new ones. At that price it is a no-brainer. At full price as well, for that matter!

No, I believe its quite different in its approach. SotC has you searching throughout the world for massive Colossus beings to fight and defeat that often require stamina based platforming to save a princess.
