Has anyone heard of the Japanese Complete Edition of EAW?

I was reading a very old JP web site and they mention it. I'm not sure if it was a bootleg or what, or if one really was official released in that country.
Its not the JapSpeech pak, they mention you can use that on the Complete Edition, but it messes some text up. The point is I'm asking if the EAW CD was officially released over there with the Japanese voices/text etc....?

That's the Japanese Site about it. You'll have to tranlate but here is the first paragraph in English:
1 Complete Japanese version released
On 10th September 1999, the long-awaited fan "European Air War complete Japanese version" was released. In the West, EAW has gained high popularity due to its highly realism, but in Japan it has not increased even more enthusiasts.
　It was said that the major cause of this was that only foreign language versions (mainly English) products were on the market, and for Japanese who feel the language barriers even more, it had become a software with a high threshold.
　Nevertheless, a few enthusiasts (about us!) Encountered mainly in the Microsoft Gaming Zone and kept skipping the EAW. For such a reason, the release of the complete Japanese version seemed to be a great opportunity for the spread of EAW in Japan.

Never heard of it.
It wasn't ever produced by the company AFAIK. To so you would have to make complete set of some of the menu and ingame cockpit graphics (letters) and so many other things we would have heard of it.
We used to have the access to the company ftp and there were english, german, french versions with some patches including italian
spanish (CDF's I think only - correction sorry; actually i think it was it not CDF's but simply the 1.2 patcher program that was also in italian and spanish.)), but no japanese whatsoever.

I always wanted a japanese set and thought it would be cool and would have got us a lot of players originally I think.

Keibin was japanese guy that was around some years ago and made some great skys addons for us (now seen it the game since later Code Group releases packed it in the updated CDF's.
He had some pages up on his website site years ago, it could have been from his page?
I think he had a "How to use OAW" readme translation in japanese.
But he never made any new language version for the game itself, to my knowledge.

And there are some other japanese add-ons, as you mentioned, but they are limited.
But Maybe someone misunderstood?

September 1999 Complete Japanese version released (EAW Ver1.2J).
It is a complete Japanese version based on the English version Ver1.2.

December 2000 A complete Japanese price revision version will be released.


I think I seen a v1.2 readme in Japanese, but nothing about OAW or sky textures downloads.
Maybe this was on another site??

Yes that would be the old Keibin site.

Japanese version..? Well, unfortunately it doesn't exist. At least AFAIK.
Just because someone posted something long ago doesn't make it real.

The only other person that could probably have made any such files would be TK. And I seriusly doubt it.
You could ask him. But unfortunately he never shows any interest in EAW.

It's been ten years (yikes!) but I think we used that guy's Japanese speech pack for SPAW.

Ralf, Roy and I used to fly online with Keibin when Ralf was developing his realism patches and I was developing OAW. He was a good pilot and I learned a lot from him
