Gents, copy your CD to an ISO, then use a virtual disk drive to try and install it. Good idea, but already tried that, sir. Cheers.

Ghost and Helo_Head, send me a PM with a contact e mail address and i'll send you a link, dropbox or torrent, to get F\A-18 installed on your system?
Let me know your preference, dropbox or torrent?
With immense help from Tomcat over at TSH, this should solve your problems.
Dave
If anyone else is having problems getting the Janes F\A-18 installer to run on Win 7 64bit then, drop me a PM.

This did the trick.
I only needed to run it as wxp sp3 in compat mode.
Little bit of configuration with the controller setup in the ts3manager.
Runs with my x65f and track ir.
Cheers!
...now, who to try this online with?

Flew a few missions now in Campaign.
Funny thing: hideous grafix, excellent gameplay.

the graphics are from 1999/2000... so not really hideous considering the time it was released in. Yeah, I know, I still remember how excited I was the day I bought it in 1999. Longbow and F15 as well. It was awesome in its day. Though I have flown Falcon online since 1998, though, I never got around to flying JF18 online. How well does it fly online?

....With immense help from Tomcat over at TSH, this should solve your problems. Do you have Tomcat's NSIS-Install-Script? I'd like to host it on TSH and Jane's F/A Resource.

Hey Helo_Head, just to answer you question, It flies great! there are some rules of thumb to follow on hosting that help with multi-player sessions. Right now there is a max limit of 8 pilots online at once in a mult-player session. Connections are stable if everyone is flying the same version. TSH v3.06 is the recommended version to use, both by VFA-41 and TSH. We are always looking to fly with other pilots.... come check us out http://vfa-41.net/We use Hyperlobby to connect for multi-player and ventrilo for voice comms.

Thread necromancy... I tried an old ISO I had, no dice, it wouldn't install.
So I just got a CD off eBay... still won't install. Win7 x64. Can anyone help? Difficult since TSH is mostly gone and VFA-41 is gone.

I did. I've come to the conclusion that a Windows update is responsible. I wiped the system clean this weekend and it installed just fine. I then tried installing Windows 10 and then installing all the old Janes sims before doing any system updates. That also worked. I'll probably leave it on Windows 10 for now. We'll see. Just because everything installed doesn't mean it'll run well.
