To insist in this "vintage" way, need consider too that MicroChip mc used in this SWF22 is no longer in production.

Hi Polish ,

I came across this Joystick/Keyboard Project that works similar to MMjoy and thought you maybe interested......

This https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=476818.0

led me to this...... https://github.com/NicoHood/HID/wiki

surprisingly there is still some stuff on TM FTP Site too...use IE , FireFox is really slow at FTP it seems

Funny about this idea is the guy want that joystick buttons send key press and he can use "Shift" or "modes".
All this could be done with simple Joy2key or XPadder, to not say of Joystick Gremlin, without need to "reinvent the wheel". smile

I figured they might be copy protected but it would be nice if any one had access to Mr Chrch to see if he would be willing to release his code rather than trying for a full dump since he did say himself second hand is the only way to get the chip. I was unaware arduino had usb hid drivers? Also thought mm2joy was only windows xp forward, I will have to check!

You can program the Arduino with MMjoy on any computer , once that is done it is not seen as an Arduino any longer , just a HID device , whether Win98 can see that HID device I don't know?

there are many many Arduino "Libraries" (Drivers) and they are easy to install and use , though MMJoy is not a Ardunio Library. The Arduino IDE is good to have installed I found and is Free.
https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Donate
https://www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/Libraries
https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Libraries
http://skaarhoj.com/wiki/index.php/Steps_to_install_an_Arduino_Library_from_GitHub

I am curious what game it is that you play that "needs" Win98 though ?

I'll get a games list together, but it's more playing on native hardware like I remember it means a lot to what I'm going for! I have some reading ahead of me !

Kbird - would you by chance have closeups of the wiring from the trackpoint mouse ? My grey wire disconnected and I'm wondering if its part of the problem for not being able to put it back why the PC isn't seeing the serial mouse

There is a pic in the 1st post of it , I think the grey is maybe the PWR Wire? ( would explain why it doesn't work) but it is likely labelled in one of my PDFs which are in the 1st 1-4 posts too....

I'll look for Other Pics if that one doesn't help , just let me know, I likely have some at different angles....

I think if it's going to the side lug it is power or ground...... middle lug /pin is the Wiper on Pots...

That PDF is the new wiring one as I see D7 which is a MMJoy Pin No# , and I know I changed some of the wires....

Ok get the PDF called "TQS_Buttons needing Diodes" I think it may show all the old assignments , will add more pics too.

If not let me know and I'll Open up my unconverted one I found locally on CL and check.....

Pic with red text and yellow box is perfect, as well as the PDF for needing diodes. The PDF is a little confusing because it shows the grey and yellow 2 --->wirelink---->black on rng pot from ant pot, but photo clearly shows grey not yellow to wirelink then black . If looking at the ant pot from the back with the pins facing up, left to right, far left pin gets the gray. I'm going to solder it together and give it a go. THANK YOU!

Some of the Notes are from my rewiring and some are old colours , my PDFs were never really for Public consumption , it's just how my brain works smile , draw it out and follow the "flow" and try and understand it as a non-electronics person....but I figured I'd post them since they might help others in the same situation, in the future somehow since there is little documentation about converting the FLCS and TQS online ...in one place .

If you don't have it On page 5 are Solder Monkeys Notes and I made a PDF of them to make it easier for everyone , it will show you what the yellow 2. Orange 1, brown 2, etc is referring too , ie the wires in the TQS Ribbon cable , on page 6 are a couple more pics too.

Hey gang,
Just checking in. Sorry I havn't been around, but Life has intruded in my hobby and I've been busy with work and things around the house. Hopefully I'll get back to this in the next week or two. Nice to see some more info on the TQS...that's the one that scares me....

Hi,
Just ask if you have a question , happy to help if I can or look at the Pics I have for something not Shown here yet...... But yes it was definitely more work than the FLCS , but I added an Encoder and a 12T Rotary switch as well , not sure if I do that again as I am not sure I will use all the Buttons , I now have, but like you been too busy to Fly much since and really test things out.

EDIT:
Looking at your MMJOY shots, I think I understand the pots section, but I'm a little lost on teh button section. I gotta read up on the MMJOYSETUP tutorial more.

Just an Update , now I found the Original Information so wanted to put it in this thread too....

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a similar problem with my TLE5010 and FLCS Handle Shift Registers (4021) and Erichos help me fix that ( Page 131), and I wire my 74HC165 Chips the same IIRC, but basically :

is little confusing for users because SPI-MISO for shift registers is not the same MISO (Data) that you can use for TLE5011........but for MISO (Data/CS) for 4021 connect to any free digital pin on the Arduino and set it in MMJoy2 under Buttons>Shift Registers

KBird - Thank you for your help - wiring actually fixed another issue I was working on (T2,3,4,5 not working). Still can't figure out why Windows can't see the serial mouse/trackpoint. I'm using PS2 to Serial mouse to the device and then serial 9 pin to the PC. I'm starting to wonder if I need a true serial mouse to pass though to get windows to see it. I've updated my thread as well but no one loves me ha ha - it's a ghost town over there. I REALLY appreciate your help with this!

No Problem .... smile

Didn't know you had a Thread smile I have desktop ShortCuts to this thread and the MMJoy one so I don't see the Whole Forum....put it in your Forum Signature perhaps like me....

So what's the difference with Foxy and Fox Pro can't remember.... I thought I saw it on the TM FTP Site? ProV2.5 maybe?

might be a bad or a incompatible PS2 converter ...... you would still need Drivers installed though I'd think ? or maybe the Nub is dead ? or now wired incorrectly ?

I'm thinking the nub might be dead. I have other issues now - I think I may start looking for another TQS to buy - turn one digital and try and do the same thing with what I have with the next one.

Well if you don't explain I can't Help smile , personally I never liked the Nub it was too hard to used accurately so I wasn't concerned about using a POV Hat to replace it from another Old Joystick.
I got lucky last year a found a 2nd FLCS//TQS/Pro Throttle/CH Pro Pedals for $75 and an X-Fighter, so I got them for Spares and Parts as the CH stuff is supposed to have good Pots and Hats etc to reuse and I prefer the X-Fighter Base.

Forgot to say the TLE5010 are available again if you want some?
