I knocked one up (that I've been using). Did not have the correct measurements and went with what felt right. Using the CoD screenshot I printed out as a reference.
Made from Hardboard, MS Publisher (laminated face), piece of dowel, drawer knob from B&Q sawn off underarm deodorant bottle, and finally microswitches.
Noice.Im slowly figuring out how to convert my old 3D printer into a CNC engraver so can have a go at doing up a proper quadrant in aluminium.Getting the text right and working on the lock at moment for it.

That sounds pretty cool, I hope you document your conversion here. Are you able to use all 3 axis or are you doing something else for z?

Now that looks nice. I like the "gate". I will keep checking the thread, and wait until you have refined it.
Could it be manufactured with white lettering? Doing it oneself is a right ball ache.
During my build I used Franklin Gothic Book (an MS default font) - It was a close to the original as I could get. They didn't have "fonts" in 1940, just Typefaces!
Some print stuff this weekend..B17 Throttle handle knobs and quadrant parts..Plus if your building a Spitfire cockpit in aluminium you will need a set of Lightening hole flaring tools..British are traditionally a curved edge where US type are a straight edge..
In the process of reorganising things shopwise at the moment and any ideas or parts/designs/pits that anyone would want please let us know...Have now got all my files (I hope) into folders on my Shapeways store on the LHS of the page to make it easier to browse.Yes thats 108 parts in the Spitfire folder

I'm loving the B-17 quadrant! Superb. I was just thinking today about making some dies for forming frame 8 on the spit sim.
By the way, I was the one that made the GPS HUD/Revi gunsight. I don't want to make too much (free) stuff either and spoil your thunder!
I've been working on a closed feedback-loop elevator trim gauge. Pics here. My printer is a lot of fun! I also picked up a copy of Fusion 360, which I guess is free on yearly contract if you make less than 100,000 USD. It's really easy to learn and use if you're already doing parametric stuff. Dovetails right into Cura.
Keep cranking stuff out mate!
edit* What did you use to stamp out that thick square stock material for the B-17 levers?
Its just flat bar steel and round tube welded together. Its not for me,its a project by a guy here in Australia whos building a replica B17. https://www.facebook.com/profile.ph...14345135223&hc_location=group_dialog Aaahh lovely work on the Revi16 Its a lot more accurate than mine.. Lightening hole dies work a treat.Going over old designs for C Channel rollers that we made out of aluminium and steel for A58-27 about 10 years ago.Looking at doing the rolling dies out of PLA as it might be cheaper and be less aggresive on the aluminium sheet..
