Does anyone, along with their partner, have any preference wrt the utility of a Food Processor vs. a Stand Mixer? Kitchen Aid makes both and they are highly regarded.

I can only afford one, though.

I don't have a stand mixer, but my food processor gets good use.

And worth mentioning that if I had a stand mixer instead, it would not get as much use, for my tasks.

We have a stand mixer and a small food processor, they are different enough in the jobs they perform that both are very useful kitchen tools.

Buy a very high quality food processor and a 10 dollar hand mixer. Unless you are making bread a lot then maybe go with the high quality mixer.

A mixer is a wrist saver, but I agree a small hand held is fine unless you do bulk breads or something like that.
Food processors...I prefer a good knife. A little technique and you’re set just fine. We have mixes and processors, and I cook a lot, but I never use the processor.

My 5', 100lb almost 98 year old mother uses a wooden spoon and a small processor.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Kitchen gadgets? The only one I use is a microwave!

“Grandmother” is a bar way too high to reach for! They have special powers.

Kitchenaid Mixer. Love it. And a lot of good attachments can be used with it. (Pasta Maker, Spiralizer, Sausage Maker, etc) .
I use the Mixer for breads, cookies, and it is stupid easy to use and clean.

I never use my Food Processor.
In fact, I found this device to be way more useful.

To be clear: I don't have the one I linked to, but it is the device I use

my super kitchen gadget is my WIFE! she has both and uses them often. I only cook when we are camping and on the grill at home.
