There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Cool story. I am a Mustang guy, drive an '09.

This car is iconic. But you can see in that gif that it did NOT have a posi rear as stated in the article.

Single striper, one tire fire, pegleg. She's one wheel drive smile

Love the movie and the chase of course, but I’ve just never been that crazy about a green ‘68. Of course this is movie and McQueen history.
In general, I know it was a performer and cool as kind of a sleeper, but I don’t get the fascination with continually making Bullitt edition Mustangs since then. Money grab I guess, with minimal effort. I’d rather they put out a Mach 1, but that takes some engineering to do it right.
My first car was a ‘66. Thought I found it online the other day.

My middle son just last year totaled my 96 GT vert.

Now I’m down to the 50 year 15 GT vert.

Working on permission for the new Vette next year. Somehow I doubt I will get it. I think the only way o get that is if I made a deal to sell all my guns and ammo!!!

Let’s all cry for Airdrop01. I know.

^ No pity from me! biggrin

I love the current Corvette but I can't imagine what it would be like driving on Louisiana roads. Nope, that's a dream I left behind in Georgia and Florida. Also, too many flying rocks tagging windshields down here (not to mention I live off a gravel road/driveway), it would drive me nuts owning a car that expensive that's constantly being damaged. And lastly, it still wouldn't fill the hole in my heart left by my one true love, the one that got away...

Exactly. smile But now I'm thinking a Vette would at least have a windshield advantage being so low to the ground, most rocks would probably zing right over it.

I just got a new car. Welll, new to me. Was looking to get a vintage E-type Jaguar, but couldn’t find the right car at the right price. Could find the right car, but not the right price. I could find them at the right price, but it wasn’t the right car; needed too much refurbishing.

So I went to my second choice.

Nice! That car screams Florida!!

You know what's kind of funny? I also LOVE those freaking Grand Marquis like the one behind your new ride! If I've got to drive across the country, I want to do it in those!!

You could relive your golden days. Cruise that sucker down to Baker on a Friday night with your wife. Grab some Zapps and a coke (Gatortaters naturally....unless you have my wife with you, and then you're stuck with the Crawtaters), and then hit the hay by 2100!

We're old, baby! My wife told me between these posts "that Vette would be wasted on us at our age!"

Speak for yourself, woman!!!!

This one's got 15 more HP than the standard GT, and some other unique badging and stuff. I'm not that into it, but it is more than just a painted-green Mustang. They've only made them two other times that I know of - '01 and '07.

Are you familiar with the GT350? It's a heavily engineered car with a unique 5.2 L flat-plane-crank engine, so it's not like Ford won't put engineering effort into developing a performance Mustang.

They also teased a new GT500 (700+ horsepower):

MarkG,
Forget the Fiero GT. The '88' Formula was the best of the bread. The Formula was born from the 16 valve GTP champion. smile wish I would have had the money for the 16 valve motor in my '87' Sport. wink also still wish the X wife did not think the clutch was designed to keep the car from rolling backward at the local light upon the hill. 75K and 3 clutches. The S10 pressure plate is the hot setup for the the Isuzu 5 speed trans.

Ford? This is not Dearborn. LOL Pontiac Mi

50 year Anniversary, 2015? Hmm, my '09 has a 45th anniversary badge. So shouldn't the '14 models be the 50th? Did Ford milk it for an extra year?

OK, so production began in 1964, but the first 'model year' was a '65? So they're playing it both ways by making 2009 the 45th, and 2015 the 50th. I guess.

Yeah. Weird thing is the one I first got wasn’t the 50 year. Then I decided I wanted the 50 stuff for some weird reason which I still can’t explain.

The 50th is a nice 'Stang, I gotta say. You got the performace pack with those nice brakes. I drove one (6-speed stick), and it drove better than mine, and certainly stopped shorter. I could feel the difference straight away. That car had the P-Zeros, assume original. Not a fan of those Pirellis. Of course that's due to living in the northeast. They had plenty of grip, as long as it was bone dry. It it wasn't? Slip city.
