I know the feeling well. I have several tv series on BR that only lasted one or two seasons at most. Rome, Caprica, Crusade, Firefly, Space Above & Beyond, etc.

DARK MATTER. That show was really going places, or so I thought. Let’s hope Netflix doesn’t cancel Travelers now.

Still one of my favourite show... I watch the serie + Serenity on bluray on a regular basis... such a great (aborted) show. I love the Expense too but it is not the same, Firefly got the same vibes as first StarWars trilogy, the perfect pulp comic's movie: good dialogs with great wit, good characters, good originality... I miss that.

The funny thing is that Josh got the inspiration for Firefly from the novel The Killer Angels about the Civil War and our Browncoats are actually analogous to Confederate soldiers after the Civil War, and the outer planets The West.

Lots of Confederates went West after the Civil War and caused major problems. Hell, Jessie James and his lot were basically illegal combatants during the Civil War on the Confederate side (though they called themselves a militia, it was on their own hook and they were never recognized by the CSA) that kept on doing what they were doing during the war.

Even where it isn't totally modeled after the West, the moons resemble the South during reconstruction. Carpet baggers are everywhere! There are still garrisons of troops here and there. Resources that should be flowing from the core either don't or are subverted to the pockets of local officials.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.
