I was looking back at the posted pics of the Summer of Love back in 1969. As I surfed through them, I wondered Who was the Quintessential type Hippie Girl ? for that Era. The on line pics show a massive amount pointing towards Grace Slick ( Jefferson Airplane) and Linda Ronstadt who was with the Stone pony's at the time. Even in big events , Woodstock, their photos pop up more often than others. My 2 cents, being a newly drafted Pvt ( back then ) I heard a lot about Carol Doda and her TV station the Perfect 38 near S.F., Ca. so I would vote for Her. What do U guys think ? Who was the Quintessential Hippie Girl ?

Hard not to say Janis Joplin. Not my type, but she fits the category.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

A good case could be made for Joni Mitchell, being one of the key talents of the Laurel Canyon scene, the true heart of the hippie subculture.

Joni or Linda, Joan Baez ...Grace was a bit hard core and Janice even more so.............it was great to go to school or work and then hit on the hippie girls on weekends biggrin

*I may be a bit biased but she is a lovely lady which I found out when I went out with her for a drink smile ( really need a cloud 9 smiley here)

Her audition for the stage show Hair

Her voice still sends shivers down my spine, Sigh!
