Over 3 years ago (if memory serves me) i posted an article about Takata airbags and their dangers here at SimHQ.

December 22th, 2015 in S. Carolina: 2006 Ford Ranger: "The South Carolina Highway Patrol says Joel Knight, 52, was driving on Rocky River Road in Lancaster County when the Ford Ranger hit the cow, causing the truck to leave the highway and crash into a fence. Although Knight was wearing a seat belt, he died of injuries resulting from shards of metal penetrating his neck from the exploding Takata airbag.

July 1, 2017 in W. Virginia: driver of a Ford Ranger killed by his takata airbag

**check with your cars manufacturer online to see if yours is on any recall list for airbags especially if your vehicle is more than a couple of years old**

I don't know about the above, but as a 2000 Honda Civic owner I have had 3 recall notices over the years. ( I dont get rid of the car because it keeps running on little cost ) Each time I took it in and they said ok its fixed then another recall notice. It does make me wonder ? and hope I never get hit.

I believe I've had both the driver and passenger airbags replaced (the later more recently) but then we recently received another airbag notice so I don't know now. I need to take it in and see what they've done or need to do.

They are recalling SOME of the interim replacement airbags they used to replace the Takata grenades. Don't know if that applies to your particular vehicles (I'm a parts manager at a FCA/GM dealership). Other possibilities include the warranty paperwork hasn't been processed properly by the dealer, that's one reason why you'd continue to get notices. Check with your dealer to make certain. I am astounded at the number of people who don't seem to give a damn whether they're replaced or not. Day before yesterday I heard "Well, I don't care. I'm not going to wreck". We commonly do 10-12 vehicles a week.

We had one in an Accord, they swapped it out when the car was in for service.
The company is BK, the recent notices are to participate in the proceedings if you want to lodge a claim. I didn’t bother yet.

I have a 2008 Ranger and a letter came about two weeks ago telling me that the parts to fix my passenger side airbag inflator have been delayed, and not to let anybody ride on the passenger side until I get another letter telling me to bring my truck in.

Hell, I don't remember getting a first letter nor them fixing my side either. I always take my truck to the dealer for my oil changes because they are only two miles from my house and are across the street from a cinemaplex, so I can take in a movie instead of setting at the dealership. I guess, I'll call them tomorrow just to clarify why my side is safe and the passenger side isn't. Maybe they worked on the issue at some point and just didn't bother to tell me.

I've bought the truck new in 2008 and still only have 32k on the odometer. Since I retired, I just don't drive much--obviously only a little over 3200 miles per year average. I had to get new tires last April---not because they were tread worn, but because of dry rot.

Artillery adds dignity to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl.
