I just finished a single player mission. Intercepting JU-88's on the way to London. We dived into them as they passed under us and it was on. I get in behind one and tracers are sailing over my canopy. I start firing but not sure I'm hitting him. His gunners are still sending tracer rounds at me and I take a glance in my mirror. Those tracers aren't from the gunners on the JU-88...I'm looking at the yellow nose of a '109 right behind me! I reef the Spit over in a tight right turn and he tries to stay with me but finally breaks it off and I maneuver on to his tail and start shooting. I'm chasing him all over the sky and BANG I'm hit. Another tight turn to the right as I try to escape from another Hun's cannons. A Spitfire pulls him off of me and it's just a wild furball. White ribbons of contrails and long lines of dark smoke and Spitfires and Bf-109's, and the tracer rounds are flying. I chase another '109 but he's too fast. I fly through some thick clouds and when I come out, I'm alone. That's it, I'm putting this thing down. I spot an airfield and head for it, making a nice, smooth touchdown and taxi to the hangers. I shut 'er down, push back the hood and drop the side door. Holy smokes! I look at my left wing. Only now do I notice how badly I was hit. Big holes in my left wing and aileron. I get out and walk around my poor Spitfire. Holes all over the fuselage, and my left elevator is gone! Debriefing says that I damaged a Ju-88 and two BF-109's. No kills, but that's fine. I'm just glad I survived the fight. I don't remember a flight sim air battle ever feeling more real than that. I'm enjoying my recent purchase of IL-2 Stalingrad, but this had more of a feeling of really being there. They'll be other opinions, of course, but I think that this may be the most realistic WW2 flight simulator available right now.

I have BoS and Blitz, love them both... I'm taking turns flying them. I have to say though, I think the sounds in CloD Blitz have the edge over BoS though.
I liked your report Pooch As someone who loves flying RAF aircraft I am so glad I took up CloD again after Blitz came out. For what is now classed as an 'older / dated' game, it sounds and looks and holds up well with more modern sims. The TF boys have done a grand job!

+1 Trooper. Nice report Pooch. Maybe it is just me but the 109s seem to use BnZ tactics pretty well now. I am wondering if TFS didn't tweak them at all to see if anyone would notice>??? If TFS would just tame the gunners a bit. I know they readjusted them to be totally realistic, but it is just about impossible to attack bombers using period authentic British tactics( not sitting on 6 or approaching six slowly) without absolutely getting torn to pieces. I love a challenge but wow this is like diving into a Tiger pit with Fresh Steaks in your pockets.
It is possible to turn down the defensive fire accuracy for individual aircraft or whole groups. Open the mission in the full mission builder, find the bomber, or group of bombers and look under "skill" for that object in the object viewer. Click the little square "browse" button to the right and it will open a list wherein you can adjust shooting skill level with a slider to "low". Save the mission and exit the builder. Try flying it. Further advise on how to use the FMB can be found on the ATAG forums.

CloD Bf 109 always use kind of Boom & Zoom, nothing has changed in AI behavior.
Gunner's less "terminator" is job for mission makers tweaking their skills.

Thank you Murph, I will definitely try this because the Crew Chief is getting quite annoyed with me bringing His plane back torn to pieces all the time.
You are in the RAF, old boy. He's your fitter. Please leave those Yank vernaculars back in the colonies.
