I see what you're saying. The Martian in particular. Interstellar was so good until the behind the bookshelf part. I have to just overlook that scene, the rest of the movie is excellent.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. I was seriously and surprisingly impressed by Ryan Gosling.

Interesting, because I very much liked the way they were trying to visualize a multi-dimensional space (tesseract/hypercube). Goes to show that different tastes appreciate different parts (but I liked the rest of the film too, although I think that it could have been tightened a bit for the first 40 minutes).

Gosling's a good actor and not a bad director, either. His movie "Lost River" was panned on IMDB, but I enjoyed it, likely because I love David Lynch's surrealistic work, and Gosling's film is full of surrealism.

so was I - I really did not expect it to be this good

can't wait for tomorrow to watch it again smile

by the way - the same happened to Rogue One, now it is my favorite Star Wars favorite.

Rogue One was excellent and I loved how it perfectly lead right into Episode IV.

the ending was one of the best I've seen in the series - and the last few minutes were epic.

the whole movie was outstanding.
