Just a heads-up for those who may be interested. ST:BC removed the VR headset requirement to play. Also 50% off on Steam: Link to Steam Page I got it, and I'm having fun with it...even in SP. Haven't jumped into the whole MP thing yet. I tend to not like people.

I saw that it mentions randomly generated missions so SP doesn’t play out. Controller support and apparently voice control too. Does it have story based campaigns or just single missions?

I have an Oculus Rift but no Oculus Touch controllers, can I use non VR controls while using VR?

It looks like you could use a game controller with it if you wanted to. From what I’ve seen, kb/m controls aren’t intensive either so you might pull that off too. I also watched a few videos of people using almost entirely voice control, with a mouse for selecting targets on the captain’s screen. There seem to be lots of options for how to play with simplified controls.

Looking at the steam forum, apparently voice command is currently disabled with the update. I assume it will return, or at least I hope so.

It's got a short campaign (5 "episodes") using the Aegis. The "Continuing Voyages" have a quasi-random mission generated. This is where you can command the Big E. I'm having fun just doing these over and over. All SP. The Helm AI is a bit...off. Gets stuck sometimes. But you can take over and pilot yourself if necessary.

I got it! Played through the Kobayashi Maru and loved it. Can't wait until they get voice activation back online. I'm using a controller right now, but may go to mouse.
