I started to create a template for the Il-2 P-40E1 - first by increasing the resolution to x4096 then redoing the lines and rivets and adding a new base, the original template is not bad but I'll need to create a whole new template so that I can weather it, including all the details.

Tom, I'm hoping to see some 49th Fighter Group skins for the P-40. They were one of the top USAAF units on New Guinea. And with that great New Guinea campaign some New Zealanders are putting together they'd be well recieved. I have a book on the units history with color illustrations so I could help you out with the research.

I don't know if you want to invest any money. It's only five bucks, an worth it, I suppose, if you're going to do alot of P-40's. I have a feeling you are.

They take too long to arrive if you don't live in the US like me - but I found a couple of sources and I think I can apply most of them

it is a lot of fun to fly it - and the skin making is what I am used to do, not a difficult transition at all,

the clean template ( two files) is now complete , 6GB - the MILVIZ Corsair template ( also two files ) when weathered ended up consuming 30 GB

the weathering is about 90% done - I have now to test it with the other skins I already made and edit it then so it works with all of them
