I placed a test folder with a skin

in

...:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\P40E1

it is not showing up in game or in the model viewer

am I doing something wrong ???

I ususally just dump them in the folder with no sub folder...IDK

I did it without a folder and it worked and it shows up in the model viewer as well - so no need for a folder

now I can start making skins for it

Your folder is correct, maybe this skin was saved in non compatible format.
