Note that Green Man Gaming is also having a sale, which are (to my knowledge) usually Steam codes. GMG17 for extra 17% off of already good Steam prices.

Please post whatever you get from Steam.... would be nice to know what other people are getting. Personally, I've got such a backlog.... frown

Might pick up a few games for the boys though. Rocket League seems fun... they're currently playing Terraria which is a relief! They've spent the last 2 years glued to Minecraft....

I would be interested in something along the lines of WWII Pacific theater strategy sim. Any suggestions?

I picked up
Bomber Crew. Don't care for the graphical style, but the gameplay looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to see something like this with War Thunder's graphics one day.
Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen (as discussed here in depth)
Infininium Strike. No idea what it's like other than tower defense and looks interesting. Around $2, not much of a risk.

Got the 3 for $20 with the discount.
Casual stuff.

Oh my.... Bomber crew looks interesting! Looks like a modified version and along the same lines as FTL, so I'll be sure to give this a go! Looks like fun for the boys too!

Thanks RK!

Pacific Storm: Allies...

...is an interesting game, a hybrid grand strategy/rts/sim lite game. Not sure if any of it really works, but it will cost you less than a buck to find out.

Not Steam, but this thread reminded me that I needed to replace my "Return to Castle Wolfenstein", one of the few things I lost on a move a few years back. $1.49 at GOG.

F4UDash4 - Thanks for the rec, I have always loved that game but wasn't on my wishlist so out of mind, just bought it!

I intend to get F-15C Addon for DCS, the A-10C campaign, BeamNG.drive looks interesting and maybe CMANO:Northern Inferno add-on. That's if I can tear myself away from Cold Waters anytime soon.

Anybody try "Spintires: Mudrunner"? I've been thinking about getting it but I'm on the fence.

You drive big mud trucking vehicles to deliver fuel or lumber through bad terrain, like woods, hills, mud, rivers, etc. It looks cool, but not sure if it would hold my interest.

I have it WK, it's a good game. Quite relaxing and I think it's good looking. You have missions to complete and very much up to you how you approach it. I liked the version before it so got Mudrunner and its a more polished product though still rough around the edges in the presentation area but don't let that put you off.

In summary if you like slower paced games once in a while, you should be happy. For slower stuff I like Mudrunner and the Farming Simulator. Both a bit different.

Don't forget folks that GOG.com is also having their Christmas Winter sale and they randomly give free games away from time to time. I already own it on Steam but they recently gave away a free copy of Oxenfree. Also be sure to check their updated "GOG Connect" tab. If they support it you can often get free GOG versions of your Steam Games. Probably close to a third of what's in my GOG library are games they gave me free or are free GOG versions of some of my Steam games that they gave me free through GOG Connect. Recently through GOG connect I got free copies of some of my Steam games like SOMA and Metro 2033 Redux.

Hey Weasel Keeper, I've got the original Spintires which is fun. Like RossUK said its good for a jump into and relax kind of game. The physics are fun and the mud physics/graphics are cool. I'm not sure how different the new one is but basically you have different maps with different kinds of terrain and challenges to accomplish. Its fun messing with the manual gear box controls and using the wench to get your vehicle out of some pretty precarious situations.

The violence is a bit over the top but it's actually a very well written story and the gameplay is fun.

got AC origins gold for less then base game so i could participate in the god fight event, only for my credit card for the FIRST TIME EVER to take 3 days to clear the sale unlike its usual 15 minutes... needless to say i lost the event and the cool looking outfit that i really wanted of anubis. i got the original deus ex,divinity OS after postponing for 2 years ? , way of the samurai 3 (if you are into japanese history and samurais, must have great fun lots of endings), The Deadly Tower of Monsters (very quirky and fun) recomend watching gameplay to see if its your thing but its inspired on those 40-50 sci fi movies.

i'm on the fence if i get that space ship game elite dangerous. also i hear great things about cuphead and loved the art style, but i'm not in the mood for scrollers so i will only get it next year. I have 200+ games waiting so......i dont think i will be getting anything new anytime soon....or ever
