Hi guys,

I have been flying CloD lately and really enjoying it especially with the TF patches.

Has anybody got any info on the Desastersoft campaign that you can buy, meaning is it compatible with the TF version?

I have heard little snippets here and there about how it is really good but can't really find any reviews about it.

Is there a certain one I should get, I prefer flying as the Brits.

Any info about this would be really appreciated,

Thanks,

Mick. smile

Hola 3instein,

Being in a corner of the world where CloD has not been particular popular I have been forced to mostly fly offline.
I recently purchased the "Luftwaffe Channel Battles" and have enjoyed every minute of it, works great with the latest TF mod. I don't think I would have had it any other way since Vanilla CloD is nothing more than bugfest.

This is the only product I got from Desastersoft.
The immersion is fantastic, and the attention to details makes a huge difference, both on the ground and in the air. You sometimes get routine patrols which stay this way, just routine, and then hell breaks loose on the next.

Exactly what I was hoping for.

Three words of caution :
Objectives are extremely hard to achieve and, at least on my campaigns, death means death...
Some products are in German-only, it would have been a problem for me.
Desastersoft does not have cloud. I nearly got bitten with misplacing my downloaded files. If you lose the download, you need to purchase again. This is NOT Steam.

If you fancy flying for the Tommies, I guess "Helmut Wick vs. J. C. Dundas" is a good choice, although you probably get to fly both sides.

Best bucks I ever spent on CloD after my Saitek Rhino.

Cheers,
Slug

I've been playing a lot of Desastersoft missions lately and really enjoy them. For me, it's the best single player experience in CloD by far.

Make sure you save a copy of the download to a removable memory /external hard drive. I bought "Helmut Wick vs. J. C. Dundas" a couple years ago. Never saved the "electronic receipt email" and after a hard drive crash, lost the download its self. Tried contacting Desastersoft to get another DL copy, but without YOUR receipt its a no go.......

If you don't like me, You can do one, of two things, deal with it, or get the heck out.

Good advice, I'd better check that I still have mine. Bought Wick vs Dundas and Channel Battles.

Nope. Not even with receipt. My saved copies were lost on an HDD and Desastersoft will not allow more than one download even with a receipt. Last product I buy from them.

Been there, and got the exact same answer.
Their campaigns are very nicely put together but beware of any unfortunate circumstances on your hard disk. The feedback is always "you are stuffed, buy again..."
And so I moved along and scratched them off my bookmarks.

Cheers,
Slug

Did they ever update the English in the campaign briefings and mission texts? It was obvious the game was not translated by a native English speaker, and a lot of the translations were cringe-worthy.

No, and probable will not happen, the team who made this campaigns for Desastersoft was disbanded years ago and the company change owner, the new has no clue about programming or even CFS, he just sell the campaigns "as is" and don't offer post sales support.
