This is just too good not to share. From the "Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum" Facebook page:

"This morning, 95-year-old WWII veteran Ed Haley climbed back into the cockpit of a F6F Hellcat for the first time since he flew his last mission more than 70+ years ago. Look at that smile! What a moment."

Excellent! The F6F Hellcat was a fantastic carrier based fighter.

Thank you F4U...Always put a smile on my face and respect in my heart when I see these old Warriors reliving their service a Salute in in order for that man and others who would served ..They can't be forgotten...I still remember my Uncle who served on Iwo Jima and made me want to be a Marine and other Vets I've talked to..I guess it's just " the Brother Hood " but for me all Vets are my Brothers we are just part of The Brotherhood..there's a post at the Nam Vets face book page says" I took an oath to defend this country and haven't been released from it it yet"

That is so great to see!

I was there a few years back when then 97-year-old retired General, former Chief of the Royal Norwegian Air Force, and WWII Spitfire pilot Wilhelm Mohr got to fly in a Spit again. The look on his face when he canopy was opened was priceless. The years were removed from his face, which had a boyish grin on it, and he clearly had just had the time of his life.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
