impressive tech ...but absolutely bizarre idea. $1700+ for a toy dog when the SPCA is full of real ones for next to nothing ...I guess "to each his own"

I think Archie's point is that if you can have the real thing quite easily then why bother getting something synthetic? Isn't emotional companionship and love the main point of having a pet? You can't replicate that with a walking conglomeration of plastic and metal.

Neat. A little mobile robot with cameras, microphone, wifi abilities, and a place for a sim card so it can make it's own phone calls! With it's own AI and learning patterns, including self location capabilities and speech recognition involving key words.

I remember when wiretaps on hard landline phones was considered a big deal.

I hate seeing people spend $$$ on "fancy breed" dogs when the shelters are full of great animals needing a home before its too late.
