"Local modeling agencies, which work with Facebook- and Google-size companies as well as much smaller businesses and the occasional wealthy individual, say a record number of tech companies are quietly paying $50 to $200 an hour for each model hired solely to chat up attendees. For a typical party, scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 8, Cre8 Agency LLC is sending 25 women and 5 men, all good-looking, to hang out with “pretty much all men” who work for a large gaming company in San Francisco, says Cre8 President Farnaz Kermaani. The company, which she wouldn’t name, has handpicked the models based on photos, made them sign nondisclosure agreements, and given them names of employees to pretend they’re friends with, in case anyone asks why he’s never seen them around the foosball table"“The companies don’t want their staff to be talking to someone and think, Oh, this person was hired to socialize with me,” says Kermaani, who’s sending models to seven tech parties in the same weekend. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-models-into-this-year-s-holiday-partiesseems like a strange thing to do

it's not the fact that the companies are doing that which of coarse is not new but the strangeness of it such as having the models sign non-disclosure agreements because they want to keep it hidden from the employees and let them think the employees are just their co-workers on a another floor, lol. As if the employees wouldn't find out something was amiss to begin with - not that many of them would care to begin with.

I thought most of these tech companies (especially in Silicon Valley) were supposed to be left wing progressives?
They're exploiting women and using them as sex objects! It’s so convenient that everyone is so easily classified into one party or the other and all of those people share the exact same opinions on so many complex topics. LOL

True. Nothing is ever 100% but when you look at the politics of companies like Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Twitter and others you definitely see a trend.

I thought most of these tech companies (especially in Silicon Valley) were supposed to be left wing progressives? Maybe you mixed up the tech nerds of silicon valley with the left because both want to change the world (and both think of themselves they are doing it for the better). But Silicon Valley uses their engineering and technology as preferred solution - which ultimately disrupts life as we know it. Small but important difference to the traditional leftists. (I'm not even sure you can label the tech entrepreneurs into a political corner as a whole group.)

Companies don’t have politics, but people in them do. I doubt any lean one way or the other 100% if they are of any decent size. Not to mention, people don’t have to vote based on political beliefs, some actually vote based on who they think the best person for the job is. Like most job interviews. Imagine how it would be if ALL job interviews by default only hired you if you were of a certain party, even if you weren’t the best person for the job, or excluded you for if you didn’t support the boss’s chosen party.

Companies don’t have politics, but people in them do. . The corporate culture is established and dictated by the board and the high level executives and then it funnels down from there. So you may indeed have individual employees who don't tow the company ideological line but the overriding culture/environment is definitely there.
