After creating a profile for the VRS Superbug in Prepar3D v3.0, my throttle quadrant and all it's buttons seem to do as I ask. The joystick only records DX buttons even after assigning keys/macros. For instance, my castle hat, I've assigned to the following:

CASTLE_HAT_UP L_CTL UARROW
CASTLE_HAT_DOWN L_CTL DARROW
CASTLE_HAT_LEFT L_CTL LARROW
CASTLE_HAT_RIGHT L_CTL RARROW

And so on. NONE of the assigned keys on my BRAND NEW stick, work in the event tester.

Whereas on my 20 year old CH Products FighterStick, they work as advertised, still.

Any clues?

Try this:

In the TMC:
Code
MapKey(&Joystick, H3U, CASTLE_HAT_UP);
MapKey(&Joystick, H3D, CASTLE_HAT_DOWN);
MapKey(&Joystick, H3L, CASTLE_HAT_LEFT);
MapKey(&Joystick, H3R, CASTLE_HAT_RIGHT);

In the TTM:
Code
define CASTLE_HAT_UP L_CTL+UARROW
define CASTLE_HAT_DOWN L_CTL+DARROW
define CASTLE_HAT_LEFT L_CTL+LARROW
define CASTLE_HAT_RIGHT L_CTL+RARROW

Your problem's most likely from not having the + symbol between L_CTL and the arrow key.

Thanks, again. Actually, what had happened (I think) is, when I downloaded the profile I was still seeing both the Joustick, and Throttle as separate USB devices. After getting home and looking at your suggestion, I thought what the heck, I'll download the profile and see what happens. Now, they combine as a single controller and in the Event Tester, they press the appropriate keys assigned to the HAT or Button. Windows Weirdness...
