Today went to the funeral of my father, 95, a RCAF WAG during WW2. He died peacefully in his sleep. Surprised how strong Mom was because us kids and grandkids weren't. Dad
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

My condolences. He had a good long life.
There is nothing I can say to express the proper feelings of empathy and sympathy I have.
May God take him to eternal grace.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Thank you all very much for your kind words.
Coot, Dad was the last of his generation on his side of the family.

My condolances mate.
I lost my dad a few years ago. He was in the Navy during the war. Greatest generation indeed.

Really sorry to hear of this, KK. Be there for your mother; she may seem strong now, but she will need someone there for support down the road. My best wishes for you and your family.

Condolences KK. Did he leave a record of his war experiences? So many didn't which is a loss in itself. My mother-in-law died on the 4th, aged 90. I have some recollections from her as a young girl evacuated after the heavy bombing of Portsmouth during the BoB.
