First of all there a new trailer up for the Rome Divided DLC to be released on the 30th of this month

Secondly Rome II is currently on sale for 66% off

Lastly, if you already have Rome II, CA is offering any one of three previously released DLC as a freebee.

The free DLC offer is good through Dec 26th and you can choose from the following.

1. Wrath of Sparta---mini-campaign

2. Black Sea colonies cultures playable factions pack

3. Nomadic tribes culture playable factions pack.

Here's the link to the trailer which has a link to the free DLC's. I think you may have to sign up on the official forum which will link up to Steam after you've made your choice.

So of the three, what’s the consensus choice?

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

The Wrath of Sparta campaign I found to be pretty dull. Persia never did anything, there are no siege weapons and there's really not much difference between all of the factions since they are all Greek.
