The noise next week from The Adventure State is collective screaming at the TV from Alabama/Auburn fans.
I give it 50/50 odds either way, which is disconcerting. Our injuries to the front line on both sides of the ball has changed the dynamic.

Larger question - if Alabama loses the Iron Bowl, it will be Auburn vs UGA for the SEC Championship.
That puts Bama at 11-1 for the season. Should they be in the natty? I would argue no. There are too many teams with the same record that will either play in or win their conference titles.
I can understand if a team is undefeated until their conference game being advanced, but not if they're shut out of it. A 12-1 Alabama team is better than a 10-3 Georgia team, for example.
The committee may have other ideas, though. Ohio was advanced last year, after all, without having a conference championship.

I wouldn't say that one has to win the conference, but one must make it there.
After all, let's say last year that Alabama, with a perfect regular season against ranked opponents, somehow lost the SEC championship to a three loss Florida. Clearly they're a better team, in the balance, than Florida at that point, and I could understand advancing Alabama.
However, we all know that there will be an SEC team at the nationals:
1) The South is unique in that we will support and watch an SEC team that isn't our favorite that's in the Nationals. No other region has fans chanting the name of their conference at a game. It's a money thing, that's for sure.
2) We usually have a team with the record to make the decision to put them in look somewhat credible. The committee is already hedging it's bets with the "body of work" talk and the excuse that Clemson's loss shouldn't really count due to the injury to their quarterback. Hogwash. They'll use the same BS logic to put an SEC team in. And yes, I mean Alabama...if Georgia hadn't been embarrassed by Auburn, it would have been them if it came down to it. The quibbling of "quality wins" has started to circulate as well. Does that mean blowouts? Closely fought games? Who knows!
3) In the case of both Alabama and Clemson the committee seems to feel like they should be there because of....reasons. I know Clemson is ACC, but they seem to be the new favorite son. The same is true for the B1G and Ohio. It just seems like they have to make big excuses on why they're either included or excluded.
That said, the committee has made some really good decisions, too. Washington State totally deserved to be there last year, for example, and the game against Alabama was one where the final score did not reflect the level of play. Washington did everything right but score.

Alabama in another tight game, down 3 at the half.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Well, I guess we'll have to console ourselves with a 11-1 season.

Thank god they lost. I dont think I could stand another year listening to those insufferable twats prancing around as if their team was the second coming. I've never met a worse group of fans than Alabama fans!
*looks dart straight in his eyes*
The only way that game could have been better is if both teams lost.

Sorry, Bama fans have nothing on Buckeyes. "If we were in the National Championships, we could have whipped Bama, but [insert conspiracy theory] we were wrongfully kept out!" The sad thing is that the committee will most likely come up with some BS BS (yes, bullsh*t squared) on why Bama should be in the top four. At that point I will freely admit to SEC bias ( but B1G fans will never admit the same).

All is good in Spartyville. The man crush the local media here has had on Harbough is now over. He is now in the friend zone. Walmart Wolverines are now taking down his poster all across metro Detroit.
The TV guys have wanted a Sabban vs. Meyer or Harbough Championship from day one. There is plenty of bias to go around.

Alabama is a top 4 team, Auburn as well.
Here's the stupidity of the FBS rankings.
Team A can be undefeated all season, ranked #1, lose one game near the end, and drop to #6.
Team B can lose 1 or 2 games throughout the season, ranked #7, and then win near the end and be ranked in the top 4.
Makes no sense at all.

Jimbo Fisher.
Why would a university want a guy who ran a program into the ground? Because there are only 130 guys that can be head coach of a FBS team in the whole world, so they have to be recycled from university to university. Hats off to LSU for breaking the pass-the-coach chain and handing it to Coach O. Why universities don't dip into the NFL coaching bench is beyond me. The pay is good, there is no player union to have to screw with, and they all have college experience. Heck, Saban was good at LSU, but his time at the Dolphins is what set up the success at Alabama. On Alabama, my circle of friends who are fans are looking at the opportunity to go to the Nationals with mild interest. We lost the Iron Bowl. A national championship would just be a way to reduce the sting of losing the Iron Bowl. Because, dammit, we lost the Iron Bowl. For the next year, no matter what, Auburn fans will be saying "yeah, but we beat you in the Iron Bowl." This is actually a good thing, as they don't have to crow about four years ago. It was sad, really. Plus, if we don't lose the Iron Bowl every four or five years it isn't much of a rivalry, is it? I was typing at someone on one of the sports sites who was saying Alabama was over-rated, blah, blah, blah, and pointed out that in the last 40 games, both regular season and bowl, we have lost exactly three. Ole Miss in the 2015 season. Clemson in the Nationals last year. Auburn this year. I'd say that means the Crimson Tide is a pretty good team on its own merits.

Yep.
Everyone talks about "Saban Assistants," but really if one looks back, they're all products of Bill Belichick's coaching machine.
