There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Well it's interesting but doesn't seem like it would be very efficient over a larger displacement

Is it just me or does he add a lot of redundant steps in making or altering parts?

I agree with ya Dart. Imo, He could have made a larger base and used a a longer belt to avoid having to make some of the parts.

What made me raise my eyebrows was gluing parts together for a single step, taking them apart, working a different section of it, gluing them back together, and doing another step on the same part.

The intakes and exhausts had about three more steps than required.

Not to criticize, mind you - I've gone the long way around of things to make sure I did them right an awful lot - but it seemed kind of excessive.

I found it all quite fascinating, very skilled work, perhaps it was all about the enjoyment of using the lathe rather than an end product? perhaps too the motor had to be built down to fit a model car project or something? perhaps something as simple as that was the only size of belt that could fit and thus the motors had to be so close.

Wish I had his equipment and skills.
