Found this off of AC/DC`s facebook page. Sad.

Quote
Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young.

Malcolm, along with Angus, was the founder and creator of AC/DC.
With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band.
As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man.
He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted.
He took great pride in all that he endeavored.
His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed.

.

As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special.

He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever.

Malcolm, job well done.

"Hells Bells" is often the first song to our workouts, also a few others off "Back in Black" (the entire album is classic, HB being the first track). That concert version sounds really good (if a bit fast).

He was only 64! That's way too young.

I remember they played here in 1997. The whole band was trying to sober up, so they suddenly made their shows with no alcohol sales. The failed to let anybody know ahead of time. People were pissed. I'm sure they all partied very hard for years. Sometimes that can take some years off of your life. RIP.

Whole Lotta Rosie, Shoot to Thrill, Big Balls, Girls Got Rhythm, Have a Drink on Me, Shot Down in Flames, were classic jams. All speaker testers.

Last time AC/DC played in Baton Rouge was in 1982 and I believe they've been banned ever since (read the fan reviews below to see why)... biggrin

==========
1982 "For Those About To Rock" North American Tour, Leg 2
Sat. 23 Jan. 1982 : Baton Rouge, LA USA (Riverside Centroplex)

Set List (see below):

Line Up:
Angus Young - Lead Guitar
Malcolm Young - Rhythm Guitar
Brian Johnson - Lead Vocals
Cliff Williams - Bass
Phil Rudd - Drums

Supported by: Midnight Flyer
Tickets: $10.00
Promoter: Beaver Productions
Capacity: 14,000

Fan reviews:

By Me, El Mirage, AZ/USA:
I had just turned 15, and this was the first rock concert I ever attended. The pot smoke was so thick in the air, it's amazing anybody survived the performance. After the concert, unconscious people littered the sidewalks surrounding the Centroplex, and this received heavy local new coverage for the next week. I think this was the first, and last, time AC/DC ever performed in BR.

By Cliff N Beth, Still Kickin (Norco) (Destrehan):
This was the last rock concert at the Baton Rouge Centroplex because of the destruction caused to the place by the rowdy crowd. Let there be rock, hells bells, highway to hell, whole lot of rosie, rocker, back in black. rock and roll ain't noise polution, for those about to rock, it did not stop. Cliff Bourgeois Beth Fernandez Mark Brady Walter Chaison

By JM Ortego, Baton Rouge La:
It was a great rock show. They were about at their peak. Because of the underage kids drunk and passed out it did bring a lot of negative coverage. This was the last General Admission concert at the Centroplex. It was all assigned seating after that. The only thing that would have made the show better for me would have been Bon Scott.

I was 14 years old, no way my parents were going to let me go nor would they give me $10.00 for a ticket. After reading those fan reviews, it was probably for the better. smile I do remember seeing this on the news and the kids talking about it at school.

Naunton Beauchamp Worcestershi...
Such a shame, best gig i ever witnessed (back in '78) and I've seen many bands pre 1983.

Only good side of this is that he and his family have escaped the 'Highway to Hell' , the road to advanced dementia.

RIP.

His guitar rifts were just pure, raw energy! I felt like my car could drive without gas if I just played AC/DC in the tape deck. smile

First concert: AC/DC Who made Who. 10th row. 15 years old.

Ears rang for three days.

Saw them many times after that.

Older brother George Young died recently, too.

What kind of car is that? What does it matter? When I drive it, I'm Steve McQueen
