I was waiting for The Night Stalker, A real cool TV show when I was a kid.
Anyway I have seen some full moons now. The campaign I am in now has moon rise about 3:30 AM and is seems like AAA gets a lot more dangerous as soon as they can see you. Seriously, I figured all of the modern AAA was radar controlled. Why does a bright moon seems to make life much more dangerous?
I am still practicing A2A radar modes & RWS & TWS basics are all I got so far. So real long escorts at night are a time to switch the radar modes & watch & try to take notes & remember.
The campaign I am in now, it is 4:30am Day 4. I am a Captain and have about a 3 to 1 kill ratio.
I also have about 190 hours since late Sept. and 4 kills of blue.
The main thing I do at night is create my own missions for A-10 & the attack helis then create a BARCAP for me to watch them. Day or night this is a good way to kill time if no good missions exist anywhere else.
I am also gonna try following some B1s with the EA-18. I saw a B-1 get shot down deep over enemy lines so a jambing escort with missiles may help.
