AKA the Screenshot thread! I'm usually too busy practicing whatever it is I'm practicing to really care about graphics or taking screenshots, but I've just been amazed at the awesome "1999 graphics" that people are showing over in the Falcon BMS forums. Here's a few of them: Credit to Demo *link broken* Hangar mod by JanHas?? Credit to Fulcrum1stvfw Credit to slains Such a flat, boring terrain!! Credit to nacy Another example of flat, boring terrain! Credit to slains 4-ship flight, credit to dema Obviously some Photoshop filter or ReShade settings, but DAAAMMNNN!!! Credit to _ANKA_ Look at those shoddy cockpit textures and blurry letters!! Credit to _ANKA_ My favorite pastime! Credit to _ANKA_ How can we even fly in these skies?? So old-school graphics! Credit to Trollef OMG!! How can this even pass testing? The guy-in-back's arms are totally puffy!! How can anyone enjoy this game? Credit to ChrisBV Do these guys even fly BMS or just putter around with graphics settings and ReShade options? Damn!! A lot of those are wallpaper-quality level! I also envy those that can spot a good camera angle; I don't have that skill at all. Please feel free to post your own screenshots to showcase BMS' "1999 graphics"!

But best of all, is the name of this thread You know me and my humor I never used to bother with the BMS screenshot thread as I was thinking "meh, they're only pictures" but that "1999 graphics" statement prompted me to have a look and, well, you can see the results. I never bother to take screenshots anyway as I don't like that half-second pause and with my 5896x1080 resolution, the sides all look stretched and while it's okay when viewing in with my peripheral vision, it just looks wrong on a static image.

Ice,is this what you get with a std BMS install or are there further add-ons to make the game look this bad? It's been a long time since I played BMS,probably 2 years or more.
EV's are the Devils matchbox.

You people still play that?
Times are tough eh?
1999 called, it wants it's graphics back.
Chucky, two add-ons are in these shots anyway. The shots credited to Nacy are the Ostee add-on theater (different terrain). The one credited to ChrisBV is the Israel theater add-on (two-seat Viper with conformal tanks F-16I ).
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

As I understand, these are JanHas skins and models - Clicky HEREFor the terrain/environment, these are add-on theatres such as Ostsee, Balkans, and Israel.

LOL, @ Ice. these are add-on theatres such as Ostsee, Balkans, and Israel. Yes thanks, Balkans is second credit to slains. My Falcon looks like this and the only add-ons I've installed are theaters.

Nice one! I've not tried the Ostsee theatre yet but gawk at the pictures. Do all those buildings show up in TGP? Can you target/destroy them too?
I agree, the area is a bit too fertile... some brown patches would be great. Also, it looks wonderful in good weather, I wonder how that terrain looks like on an overcast or worse weather or on a different time of day?

I am often surprised by how nice this game looks... with 1999 graphics There!! Fixed it for you Yeah, you can see all the objects on the TGP. I haven't flown it much, so not sure what it looks like in all weather conditions. Thanks! Might be time for me to install the other theatres again. How's this for camera angle??? I admire your dedication to your craft!!

Duly noted! Have you tried the campaigns on any of them? All theatres do have campaigns, right?

Hey there, i am registered at www.bmsforum.org BenchMark Simulations. After I sign in all i get is a few anouncements on the forum and that is is 9 threads, none about 4.33 and no pictures. all messages to staff get ignored also, so this is the most I have seen of their forum ever. In fact I registered at a few places good ol SimHQ.com was the livliest with the best AARs and what not. It took me a year or 2 to fire up F4 and I would come by here & not much happening, now I see 5-25 people in Falcon 4 just reading. Since Steam and GOG started selling F4, there has been a ton of old heads coming back (myself) or youngsters trying to learn, bottom line a lot of new folks in F4 BMS. Regarding the 5 or 6 posts, i was gettin a dbase error when i tried to post 5 times and when I goto my posts, none of them show up so I can not delete them. An Admin said he was trying but they were stuck, so he so far has not been able to either, it may take till nest time the site is down & restarted, i do not know, sorry all. If this post goes up, I may be able to try a new thread but I do not need to make it any messier than it is..... Anyway as far as visual quality goes this stuff is beautiful, some tanks and objects was down lo are a little ruff but once u are flying, I forget it is a sim, it looks real. The boring terrain above, covered with bldgs is frickin awesome. I think Korea being flattish had a lot to do with 1998 video cards and 32 bit OS & SIM, with all the RAM we have now we can afford a lot more bldgs. On the other hand who feels like spending a few years fill in Korea, on the Other hand if the owners of F4 came out with a new version with terrain full of real bldgs and new models I would spend some cash, no problem. At dusk, when the lights start coming on even flat 1998 Korea looks great.
