Way over in Perth, Western Aus...
I'm watching the BBC doco : "Sailor" about the Ark Royal in 1979. What is this RAN Phantom dispensing or firing as it passes the ship? It doesn't look like flares...

Just as he finishes his firing run and almost completed his turn, look at where the rockets would have gone. You can just make 'em out.
