If you want to go all out systems wise and be at it for months if not years, then pickup the A-10C if you haven't?
Still one of the best all round simulated aircraft on PC, with serious system modeling for only $39.99 and comes with a set of steak knives, right XIII.

The Viggen is cool to, more old school, you even need to update the NAV system using a landmark, like a bridge or lake so the nav stays aligned properly, this is more of a high speed bomb and run aircraft, where the A10 is a slow loitering aircraft.
This is a mission that comes with it and is the sort of mission the Viggen was design to do IRL.
Checkout these PDF manuals made by Chuck, very well made guides, these will help give you some idea whats modeled in these aircraft, before spending any dollars..

I'd second the Viggen for the simple reason is that you've not been exposed to Western avionics. aka spoiled.
The Viggen is counter to anything I've simmed in, which has turned me off from it. Not that it's a bad aircraft (its a strong Beta product), I just dont want to learn it's nation specific integration. Very system orientated and capable A-to-G platform.

Sorry guys, I didn't make myself clear. What I meant is, since I don't have a powerful computer and I'm not ready to upgrade, does it matter which plane I use with the system I have, like if I use a plane with clickable cockpit and all the sophisticated avionics, will it put my system to its knees?

Marc..
Not really, it's the inefficient and un-optimised engine and terrain that will do that......the difference between airframes is minimal in terms of system performance however, there are several modules that are far from finished so the overall experience can be hit and miss. The safest bets in terms of polish are the A10, Blackshark and Huey imo. If you want more aircraft for your money then go with Flaming Cliffs 3 and you can then decide if any of the aircraft are worth putting more money in for higher fidelity, you can then wait another 15 years for ED and partners to finish said modules.

The aircraft and terrain graphics are the items that put a strain on your PC hardware.... which can be "fixed" by simply going for lower graphic settings. When you first said "system wise," I thought you meant aircraft avionics...

I don't quite agree with Paradaz, the fps differences can be quite noticeable between various aircraft, especially when your PC doesn't have much umph to render all stuff. This thread of my fellow countryman should give you a good idea of relative hardware performance between them: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=189375
Don't forget to check a little update on the 3rd page.

Just stay away from the mig21 bis if your system isnt the best, its the most demanding module I have seen in DCS, i had a Ivy brigde cpu and a GTX 980, hated the mig21 because i could not run it like the other modules, I have now upgrade too kaby lake and gtx1080 ti and now im able to enjoy this plane that i bought so many years ago...

[Re: Marc]
I don't see why the MiG-21 would tax your system more than any other DCS modules.... are they using higher poly count in their models? Or is their code done badly that it affects performance?

[Re: Marc]
And there is no way to down-sample them? Also, why the need for very high res to the point that performance suffers? Aren't the default-res cockpits of other aircraft already stunningly beautiful?

[Re: - Ice]
I honestly feel that the cockpit artist spent far too much time and effort making beautiful work that was totally inappropriate for the end use.
Ah, gotcha.... but then is there no community mod that contains more performance-friendly textures?
There is, but even with that texture replacement i used to struggle with the mig21 with my old system.... Anyway, if you can run the mig21 I really reccomend it though, it’s one of the best modules i have for DCS. It has a feel to it, that i dont think any other module in DCS has captured, hard to explain, but I love it, sorry for going OT:p. I have loved and hated the mig21 module with passion for many years😃

Saying something as being a love-hate is not really the way to sell it. Besides, I'd like more combat in my flight sims, not just an airframe simulator.
