Hey, they got it right!
Well written, paced just right, filmed in a straight forward manner (no jumpy cam, well lit, no weird editing), I was delightfully surprised.
By focusing on Arthur, who has some issues, it's a lot less camp than the previous attempts at the property, and the silly nature of the whole premise of the characters is enhanced by them playing it straight.
Indeed, for most of the first two episodes Arthur isn't sure if The Tick is real or a function of his mental illness, and never seems quite convinced he isn't, though there is loads of physical proof.
Plus the references to fiction are great. At one point The Tick tells Arthur he's at the third point in the hero's arc - denying his destiny, and compliments him on it...as an aside.
Some "re-imaging" going on, but in a good way.
The bad is that one has to have Amazon Prime.
