don't know - for sure they will further improve FPS, which by the way are fantastic, I added airports to my Hawaii photoreal scenery and to my surprise no FPS drop when landing, something that always bothered me before every time I tried to land.

one thing that is not working well on my P3D v4 install is trees, there I am having a huge FPS drop, something I hope they fix ASAP.

by they way, this seems to be the low tide of DCS - hardly any interest in it anymore here or at other forums, if it weren't for LOF I would give up.

I am very close to moving back to P3D work again.

I was waiting on the first real update, before making the move over to V4. Internal compatibility with VR is the draw for me. But it will always be Single Player experience. Just not enough M/P events. Hopefully this update is what all of you have wanted.

As for DCS, I understand. I think its finally frustrated enough people with the delays and incomplete modules, that interest has slowed down.

This place in particular is very hard on ED. We have a long thread mocking a DCS Weekly News email, and in that time some good news came out. The Su-33 PFM is now in the open beta. I don't think I've seen a single post talking about it.

I do not take part of any criticism of DCS due to my ignorance on the subject and current lack of interest, so I cannot say much about it or if it is warranted.

but at least there is interest by some @ SimHQ , if you go to Avsim or Sim-outhouse you will find almost empty DCS forums and hardly any discussions about DCS features, so it is not all bad here.

I frequent a few boards and read peoples comments, both for and against. This place is hard on DCS, for sure. But it points out the glaringly obvious short-comings of the sim that continually get disregarded with each "update". The ED forum is a joke. I've pointed out and provided logs for several issues that have yet to be fixed on various modules. Instead, they just keep releasing more payware. If it's not all happy and shiny, it gets deleted and/or ignored.

This seems to be a trend among some developers! They havent fixed bugs/issues on recent builds that there already on to a new project and/or selling it! It´s not only DCS 3rd party, but FSX/P3D 3rd party devs too! It even happens with scenery! I don´t want to think about how much money I have thrown out the window with faulty add-ons in the past that never got fixed!

Unfortunately it´s very easy to pull this off with software, you see this happen in all kind of app´s, not just games! There should be some kind of control in general IMHO!

in P3D/FSX world if you don't like a developer you can move to another - competition works very well there.

true - and things were much worse back when LockOn 1.00 was released, discussions are tame nowadays compared to then.

I haven't tried it yet. I believe I have 1.5 with NTTR, and the regular non-beta versions installed. I don't really have the space for 3 DCS installs, and managing the profiles for my HOTAS between them can be a pain. One of the areas that can certainly be improved in DCS. So when it comes to one of the release branches I will try it.

Yes competition works well, I agree but it´s not always the case...

- Capitan SIm, some work some never got fixed.
- Milviz, alpha build (b-350i) has been on-going for the last 2-3 years, lost count! Still putting out new products that work, B-55 could be better, F-15 got lost in FSX. Most of there products are good, but...
- Real Air, down for good! I have ALL there aircraft!
- Vertigo Studios, I have ALL there aircraft, none of them work right, never got any feedback from the dev!
- X-Plane, Flight Factor A350 still needs a proper FMC that was due after it came out 2-3 years ago.

Iam sure Iam missing some that were in my hanger at the time. Iam not trying to bash these companies, just the facts!

Now Iam down to 4-5 companies that I trust will deliver. What Iam saying is that one should not have to go through the newbiness of falling in these issues/pits before learning which companies are worthwhile. We all have a hard time earning money! At least I do, so shops should also be aware of these faults!

We sometimes forget that "customer support" is just as important as the quality of the product itself.

Just my thoughts on the industry...

I had less problems - I bought maybe a dozen aircraft in ten years and all worked very well , it is a question of luck.

but then again, I tend to concentrate more on making skins and usually fly VFR to enjoy the scenery and I had so rarely CTD with P3D that I am almost 100% happy with it.

Just too keep in the spirit of the frorum, and this thread,,,, forget P3D, its #%&*$#, xplane is so much better.... For modern combat, there is only one option DCS world. P3D, worst pice of #%&*$# software that ever been on my computer..

BTW, doesnt this thread belong in the civil flightsim part of the forum??? Or its just a new way of bashing DCS, so evertime a new sim shows up, we have to anounce it here and make sure we talk some #%&*$# about DCS too, no matter if its a new civil aviation sim...

I don't know what kind of answer you are expecting - but you sure chose the wrong guy to start trolling.

Seems like he's decided to stand on the other side of the line without even understanding the rules of engagement.
