If you fly using VR then you probably already know what this is. If not get on over to https://flyinside-fsx.com/ and get it.

Although P3D v3 and v4 has native VR support it leaves a lot to be desired.
FlyInside is a 3rd party VR app that give you much better FPS than the native VR and allows you to use the 2D popup windows such as GPS etc. and also has Touch support in the Oculus version.

Also available for FSX and X-Plane

This is sad news for me. Right now I am using FlyInside with FSX:SE. One of my justifications for upgrading to P3D is the native VR support. Now you have plainly shot that down. I have been waiting for TacPack to support P3Dv4. But this information has given me second thoughts since I don't fly a lot of FSX anyway. My only interest is in the SimWorks Studios F-4B that I have had for awhile now. I love the addon aircraft but hate the FSX environment.

Don't count on P3D native VR support - it's still really rudimentary and doesn't provide a good performance. Flyinside performs way better (and its interface makes VR highly usable). Maybe LM will implement VR in a decent way one day, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon. I'll be curious to see what X-Plane does. They seem to have a way more interesting implementation of VR in mind, but they'll also need to get the performance to a good level, which Flyinside is also doing well for xp11 now. It really goes to show that Dan Church (the FI dev) is a magician when it comes to implementing VR for flightsims - I wish he could turn his attention to combat flight sims like WOFF or ROF (I've suggested that a few times but I don't think he's interested - too small a market I guess)

Hey all,

Thought I'd update this for those on the fence about LM's commitment to VR. I have both FSX Deluxe w/ Accelleration and SDK updated from disk and Dovetail's hobbled Gold version with Flyinside's product and for me at least P3D out of the box is both smoother and less buggy than flyinside which frequently crashes due to my add ons not being compatible. Different strokes as they say but the discount I got for being a VRS customer and the free crossgrade from FTX/ORBX sealed it.

Flying OculusVR in P3D w/ TacPack and Superbug may not be the smoothest experience at times, but right now it is the ONLY experience in the VR realm with a bird of that complexity besides DCS so I'm an enthusiastic supporter at this time. Now for those of you with Vive I would probably say XPlane 11 or another product as apparently it is some hassle to get running properly in the Vive enviornment but for us Oculus owners this right here is the BOMB!

Salud!
